revised
if that is soo, i think there will be a lot of bots with heavy hammers attached to whatever the builder wants.

And/or popups.
But this is an interesting idea. It would be even more interesting in stock though.
hmm.. that gives me something to think about. i wouldn't have a clue on what to vote for since i'm more of a DSL person then stock.if that is soo, i think there will be a lot of bots with heavy hammers attached to whatever the builder wants.

That post inspired me to put up a new poll. Should I do this tourney (if it is in fact approved) in Stock or DSL?
Let's do this.
You can make it stock and DSL and have separate winners
Make that 7
What?__________________________________________________________________________________
Anyway the arena looks a bit messy.
Soooo... can this tourney go to signups?
Soooo... can this tourney go to signups?
DPThere will be a poll to decide which tourneys go to signups when appropriate
Umm... there are only 4 tourneys running in Signups... do I have a spot?
Last rules update EVAR!Stacking batts will be fun.
23. AI components ARE allowed.
24. Deadline= July -- (depends on when I get this approved)
Awesomeness arena. RLY
It's just that the hard thing to say is that I want to be able to accept ONLY THE AI COMPONENTS in cheatbot2. Everything else will be strictly prohibited.
*sigh*
This will take a lot of explaining, but I mean ONLY the extra crap, (e.g... the sides and wedges from Techno Destructo, the Firestorm, WBC, Storm II, etc. crap, and the extra wheels.)
God those are bad.
Bump
Edited the LB arena (honestly, it sucked) into something more pleasing.
Minor league size limit is 16 entrants.. just so you know now..
I'd still prefer a stock Battlebots tbh.Not so good for making uber-realistic robots, however.
Wait? No glitches at all? This sucks badly. I use axle loading in nearly all my IRL designs (see my latest DSL bot)
As is the weight- any chance of it becoming DSL HW, mate? :P

Yes- personally, I think it'll make the whole "Realistic Robot-building" aspect much easier, and not so much focus on needing an unrealistically tiny chassis. As is the weight- any chance of it becoming DSL HW, mate? :P
Would you guys rather have it DSL HW?

OK, I'll change it.
(edit): Changed.
Wait, I just built some DSL MWs concepts for this!
Hummmmmm. It does not matter anyway it goes, because I don't think there was any rule against making a pony themed bot it just needs one or two of those sponcers from those packs.
DPHuzzah!
I would keep the vote running, but it's almost unanimous, and I don't want to miss the voting.
BATTLEBOTS: 16
TOURNEY OF AWESOMENESS: 3
Green tick up!
Would it be best to decide judges now?
Possible for the arena to be changed into another Battlebots arena?
Can you please change "no castor armour" to "no skirt hinge armour". Thanks. I think that makes more sense for a DSL tourney right?
Is there a havok restart rule?
And is there a time limit for each match?
For judging are you using the RFL Judging guidelines (http://botleague.net/doc/judging-guidelines_V3_1-0.pdf) or something else?
What does it mean by using AAM to extend flippers? Also, do decals have to be visible? Lastly, is the drum in my showcase legal for this?
Are replicas of battlebots legal?
Doubt this will workFor judging are you using the RFL Judging guidelines (http://botleague.net/doc/judging-guidelines_V3_1-0.pdf) or something else?
Yes, except for judging will be based on Agression, Damage, and Control, each category 5 points per judge, totaling up to 45 points.

Aggression: AI will always be equally aggressive, (AI never runs away :P)
Control: AI control will always be the same, the better control will be the bot you AI better making it quite unfair
I would suggest using the current style of judging, point given for every attack, e.g.
ramming= 1 point
flipping= 1 point
hitting with spinner= 1 point
etc.
What about a pinning bot though?

Yes, the damage bar and points in RA2 will be completely ignored.
What about a pinning bot though?
As in a rammer that pins, I will use the Ram or Charge tactics so as to keep ramming and not pin.
If you mean something else...

So are you going with what Vert or I suggested or staying with what you said?

He means a bot specifically designed for pining, rather than bacup-and-charge ramming.
Just curious, is there a way to make the Hell Raisers unfunctional but still keeping the hammer(s) working?
And what about scoring more points for more significant attacks?

What's up with the Hell Raisers

Cause if a bot does get flipped over and it isn't invertible it is pretty much screwed. (Unless facing a wedgy flipper, but this is unlikely because of the enclosed arena)
I hate you all :P
I can't enter this (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/12441ff.png), right?
I would give the judge's the option to enter or not
This is a GTM Battlebots. I've always wanted to see a GTM Battlebots. This is an oppertunity to use a shell with flail 70-kg hammers.Wrong. IRL style bots only in this. I can't recall and Irl FSS off the top of my head.
There is the question of impartiality. If there's a particularly close match, and the Judge's Decision puts the judge's robot through, then I think some people might see that as bias.
No, just asking for troubleI would give the judge's the option to enter or not
Actually...that's not a bad idea, since the judging is based solely on attacks.
SKBT and G.K., you can enter! :DDDDDDDDDDD

Do you honestly see SKBT or I not being impartial?

Personally, I don't, but I do think there are members on this board who would.
Whoops wrong words, I meant give them the option to judge and if they wish not to judge they can enter and then you move to the next person with the next highest votes.^This would work^

You CANNOT allow someone to judge and enter, not that I don't trust GK and SKBT, but it is just asking for trouble

There are i.r.l. flail shell spinners. Examples: Mauler Seasons 4-5 and Caliban.
You can count on me entering if it gets voted for.

Not to brag, but it looks like it will. :P

You can see the results?
Pardon my french but, you plan on filming in an arena that is unbalanced and laggy?
Just reskin the combat zone or find some other low lag arena and film it in that arena.
Also there is this one line where if a robot passes all components outside the robot turn transparent, would you really want that?

No.Also there is this one line where if a robot passes all components outside the robot turn transparent, would you really want that?
Yes.
could I use a reskinned component? my bot is covered in some extenderwork so the sponsor wont be visible if I put it on the chassis.
cheatbot2 allowed?
What's the new rule?
Why the pointless rule regarding a sponsor decal?
Even if they don't have a sponsor?
None of mine do, and most others don't eitherWhy the pointless rule regarding a sponsor decal?
Because, in my opinion, real robots should have a sponsor decal.
I would say a walker is a robot that does not use wheels or weapons as a means of propulsion.
For maximum realism on mine, could I use a lifter motor? I've had a good idea for crushing weaponry.
Thanks, that's great. And if it doesn't work, I could always adapt it into a lifter instead...For maximum realism on mine, could I use a lifter motor? I've had a good idea for crushing weaponry.
Um OK.
This Tourney is turning out to be a complete joke. Laggy Arena, must have a Sponsor Decal, allowing AI parts, what's next? "You must take a picture of your self standing next to the robot"Why the pointless rule regarding a sponsor decal?

Although with the arena business, if lag does become a problem, I'd suggest using the skinned Battlebox from the old BB AI pack. Just keep it simple.

I don't think you should let GF93 use the motor. No offense intended GF93, but if you allow that, you have to allow anyone else who wants to use cheatbot2 components and gives a reason, else it's not fair.

It's nothing against you, it's just we've got to be consistent, else we open a whole can of worms.Maybe so...it's just this little issue- how are you supposed to make a realistic flipper/lifter/crusher with a bunch of pathetically weak DSL burst motors? With one of the regular ones rigged like an IRL flipper, you'd barely even lift a lightweight.
How about this as a rule: 'Cheatbot2 parts will be considered, but individual cases must be suggested and discussed with Freeziez before the bot is submitted'?That's a good idea- I remember doing that with Badnik in the original Replica Wars.
That's where I got my inspiration.Ah, OK.
On a side note, I'll be uploading your BTTB 4 match shortly.
That'd open up a whole can of worms if freeziez said yes to one but no to another.
That'd open up a whole can of worms if freeziez said yes to one but no to another. Not necessarily- it depends on the validity of certain parts. For instance, you could use the Judge motor for say, a powerful flipper. However, you can't use loads and loads of Judge axe heads for a weapon- that would just be silly.
I`d say stick to the rules. GF you knew what you could use and what not and you should deal with it.Nothing wrong with a little bit of discussion on it though, mate. And after all, you can clearly see I'm not making a big song and dance about it like I usually do.
None of mine do, and most others don't eitherWhy the pointless rule regarding a sponsor decal?

Anyway, can I send my bot without one, cause I'm worried about putting anything into the game cause of this (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,7108.0.html)
If your making a Battlebot tourney, why not make it a Battlebot REPLICA tourney.
becauseshut upthere are so many replica tourneys but not so many IRL tourneys
