My Chances in the First round

LW: feel that I got this fight, although I had this feeling in BB7 with the same bot and it didn't go well
MW: stuck against a well armoured rammer, expecting a long and hopefully entertaining fight. But im most likely on the losing end after Hostile Theater.
HW: Got stuck with a Shell spinner with what some would say is probably my best bot yet. Im not liking the match up and feel that the weapon would probably break easily

LW: I'm against Voltergiest eh? As long as this bot doesn't get stuck like Diet Pepsi, I may win this one.
MW: I may have a shot as long as my drum holds out
HW: I know I'm gonna lose that one.
SHW: It will be a difficult fight, but I have some chance of winning.
Overall, there are a lot of good bots here, but I didn't expect myself to go far anyway.

Hypno hat becomes nothing more than an annoyance when those clubs fall off, and Falmer should have enough armor to hold out and sink its teeth into that exposed chassis

As tradition dictates me to, I'm going to do some predictions:


My Bots:
LW: Pretty confident as of now, Cyclone looks like it'll probably dish out a lot of damage, though I think I can poke the chassis enough to kill it. Praying Mantis/Top Doge seem more like pushovers though, so I should be fine there.
MW: I'm really confident that I'll at least get past Round 1 in this division. The flipper seems really vulnerable and I think I won't have much trouble with it. Tuna Can seems rather exposed as well so I should be able to get in and rip it. Worried about going against Suffering Incarnate since I fear that I'll be suffering the same fate I did against Cheatbot in Poker Night.
HW: I now regret ever considering entering Droste Effect now that I've made Big Max. Really worried here that D20'll knock off my weapons before I can get at the chassis to do any actual damage. Or I could get lucky and could get it while it goes into a Mauler-Dance.


Winner Predictions:
LW: Moros to keep it's title, I don't see anything that could be a threat.
MW: It's anyone's game here. I really don't see anyone in particular who could come out on top.
HW: Death Incarnate 2.1 or Trinity Force 3.
SHW: Ryu: Hellfire to keep it's title. Nothing else is really that interesting in the division other than Oizys XL and Death.

I'm honoured 'noia, but Death is going out in the first round. The wedges are probably too wide to be of any use against Destruction Incarnate.

LW: Hmmm maybe. If I don't get flipped or lose my disc I could win the first fight here, against SD no less.
MW: Yup, unless he has a nuclear bomb under that top cover, Tempest's ass is mine. With both weapon layouts too, although I'd prefer the drums for this fight.
HW: As long as my opponent doesn't cause too much damage and my hammers don't interfere with the stability enough, I should win this.
SHW: Nah. My SHW is an unfinished outdated pile of crap. Not unless Monsoondoom has some weird normals with the OverKill wedges will I be able to beat him.

Predictions: (don't believe I need a spoiler as these reveal nothing about any fights)
LW: Moros vs. Diet Coke
MW: Chief Kamachi vs. Tuna Can again.
HW: Oizys and any other free pick.
SHW: Oizys XL and Ryu:Hellfire. Maybe Die Thyrus Die if it gets a lucky fight lineup.

Other robots comments:

LW division is very uninspired this time around, and that includes my bot. All the good looking robots like Stormageddon 2 and Cyclone were here last competition.
MW's a bit better, I'm a bit disappointed to not see a Hellcopter VIII though.
Very interesting to see Momus, a lightweight from BB6, entered as a middleweight this time around.
Shark Byte Trinity.... Hmm where have I seen this naming scheme before? Was it perhaps in a turn of the century vampire hunting movie trilogy with Wesley Snipes as the main character? Nah, couldn't be.
Axe Handler 4 looks good.
Naryar's MW and SHW are sweet. I don't care if he was or wasn't trying, they look sick regardless. Hope they kick some ass.
HW, probably the best weightclass of them all in this tournament. Out of the whole series of competitors, there's only 3 I don't like.

Overall though, I think we're coming to an end of era. In my honest opinion, we should have one more BB in DSL 2.1, then move to DSL 3 Beta to commemorate the 10th event. Maybe hold one Display Tournament with all the best and most memorable robots from the first 9 competitions aswell, to bridge the gap. Anyone else think the same? Otherwise, we'll just be doing the same thing again and again for years on end with very slight improvements and changes and a couple AI packs, which kind of reminds me of another building style's competitions. *Incoming Bitch 2: Bitch Harder*
