We had a similar debate with an SnS that spun the wrong way because the host AI'd it wrong. I lost the counter argument there, how is this any different?
Can we ask G.K. about this?

I'll have to discuss with the other mods but the precedent was set that we redo it with the correct AI last time.

Issues like this are precisely why I placed my own smartzone. I knew where I wanted it to be, and the best way to make sure it's just right is to place it yourself. Freeziez had a ton of bots to AI and add smartzones to, so high precision is not something you should expect with smartzone placement, especially if you're not very specific when mentioning location. (or if you don't mention it at all)

Good match. Somewhat unfortunate that there was the one error near the beginning that set me to lose (me getting flipped and him getting under me, which led to him killing my flipper), but it was very, very, very close near the end.

Yes, I can't AI them at all, even though I've had about 40 matches with flippers and only a couple have gone wrong with minor things, such as turnspeed or inch-off smartzone placement. I had a lot of bots to AI and the last thing I'm going to worry about is a SZ a millimeter from where you actually want it. AI it yourself or deal with it.

there's enough commotion on this for me to make a ruling on this. It will be along the lines of saying Hosts' AI'ing errors fall into 2 categories, Critical and Minor.

Critical errors will be like not wiring drive correctly, missing off smartzones totally, putting in the wrong nose value in the AI line, and using an utterly wrong .py class.

Minor will be things you don't like about AI lines written by the host if you didn't AI your bot (turnspeed, radius, etc), smartzone placement, or using not the .py you were thinking of, but another that funtions well enough (Like popup vs Omni).

Hosts will be obliged to redo if they make a critical error, if they make a minor error then they can redo it if they want or let it slide if they want, unless the sender of the bot produces evidence to show that they told the host how to AI the bot and the host went against that. If the evidence is there, the host must redo/fix mistakes. If there isn't evidence for this then correcting/re-runs will be entirely up to whether the host wants to or not.

If you AI'd the bot yourself correcting any errors/re-runs are again up to the host.
