In my debut battle, I have to face Sage, an experienced RA2 builder, whom has created Long Schlong, which seems to me like it is a destructible robot.

I am 90% sure that I will lose this battle, but there is a small crumb of comfort. Judging from the image on the splash page, Long Schlong's weapon motor is quite exposed. A lucky hit or two from The Migliore's axe could break it, giving my robot an advantage for the remainder of the fight.

That said, the battle will likely be decided on the first blow, so I have little confidence of winning. Still, at least I got to take part, and have the loser's bracket still to contest should I lose this battle.

Round 2 vs Death Comes Ripping (Frezal): This robot has got a weaker jaw than leafy, which is a shame. If it had better wedges I would probably give the matchup to him. This is all presuming the black background isn't hiding some small wedges somewhere. I wish him the best of luck against some horizontal spinners.

No hidden wedges. I haven't really kept up with the building trends, nor have I looked at very many showcases in the last several years. For the most part, I like to just build things that pack a punch and look cool (while remaining somewhat realistic). Will it lead to success? Possibly. Either way, I look forward to seeing what aspects worked and what aspects didn't. I know balance is an issue, and after seeing some of my competitors in the splash, I have a few ideas how to fix it for the next iteration.

alright some thoughts on the two tournaments i care about

Lilapsophobia was entered because i stopped giving sh**s about Stock ages ago and figured "screw it may as well enter my best stock mw". honestly i think it has a soild chance of doing well here if it turns out melty-brain ai wasn't the thing making it win all the time. I fight Kurt first which I'm not too nervous about because bear claws imo are kind of hit-or-miss. Though since it's a stock HS battle it'll probably depend on who gets a lucky shot on a tribar first

if I win I fight Reier which shouldn't be an issue, HS usually > VS

After that I'm most likely against Conraaa which is the first match which worries me, and after that i have no idea because lmao


In Ironforge, Kung-Fu Cutman is a straight up ripoff of one of Reier's bots and i apologize for that but you see im rusty as hell and figured **** it i might as well make this easy on myself

I fight Boto first and his vanilla as hell rammer which could be an issue because my chassis is pretty weak and exposed but i feel like if i get up to speed i'll win

After that it's either playzooki or wen. are we sure wen didn't steal and reskin a bot because i highly doubt he made that on his own and it will likely win its match and then beat me because popups are satan

I have no idea how much HP those sawbladehammer things on geice's Retooled bot have but I sure hope my Spike Strip spam can handle them. I'm just glad it doesn't have a wedge TBH, I might not embarrass myself too much!
