Here is my showcase. Feedback is appreciated. I know im not the best builder so criticism is ok as long as it isn't too harsh.

Im also open to suggestions to get the weight to the fullest
-
Very well done, I can see you've had a lot of practice.
My only suggestion is that the third one is way overpowered; 4 blacks is more than enough. Also, that one burst with an entire "T" of spikes won't do you much good. Can you fit a DDT in there?
-
Unfortunately I can't fit a DDT in there. I could probably remove 2 batteries a fit one behind the other bursts. And should I shorten the middle burst to 2 razors on each side?
-
You could fit a DDT if you remade the chassis.
-
That first one is a beast! Nice first bots for your showcase. You have a ton of potential with some guidance.
I agree with Sage. Bot 3 should have the chassis remade... it could be constructed a bit more efficient. It is a great attempt though.
-
Ok heres the new Sir Knight:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/93406Screen shot 2010-02-25 at 7.41.15 PM.png)
It actually moves a lot faster now. Its also lighter (as you can see). What do people think of the second bot?
-
You should use DDTs for your weapons and get 4WD on your popup. About the 2nd bot, you can get a HP ztek if you switch the servo to a blue snapper.

Don't concern yourself over "lighter," it's not important as long as it doesn't affect which weight class you're in. As a general rule, you should always be trying to do one of these two things with your design:
-Get your bot as close to the weight limit as possible
-Make your chassis as compact as possible (ie, the minimum amount of empty space)
I'm hesitant about those Snappers with razors, as Snappers don't really have the power to flip a heavyweight. It looks like you've got enough room for two side-by-side DDT's, though, maybe consider that in your next build.
-
use rubber wheels for Sir Knight. I like the first robot (the poker) and the LW.
-
The new version:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/91188Screen shot 2010-02-26 at 8.06.39 PM.png)
now has 3 DDT's instead of 1 and shinies
-
Build to the weight limit and use rubber wheels. Also, get the combo AI and SZ pack from the Downloads section and use the SnapperII in that pack for the wedges. You can also get rid of the T extender and the 2 pink batts. What's the armor?
-
No, they suck for wedges. Keep your Snappers.
-
There are too much empty space, try to add 2 z-tek motors.
-
Sir Knight:

Im open to suggestions to increase weight. And the DDts are a close as they can be.
And heres the new split:

Sir knight's chsaiss is way to big, also give it 4wd and get rid of th pole spikes.
-
Im running out of things to say for the new version of Sir Knight, anyways here it is:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/56096Screen shot 2010-02-28 at 11.04.13 AM.png)
for those who cant see it now has:
4 HP Z-Tek
2 Slipper Bottom wheels
2 Shines
3 DDTs
16 Razor Tips
2 Blackvolt batteries
3 SnowPlows
2 Wedges
-
make the 2 slipperbottoms shinies.
-
Take rear snowplow off and put ramplates on the front.
-
Hey guys, how about telling him some things he's doing right too instead of just saying "Do this. Now do that. No, don't do that."
Other people already pointed out how you can improve Sir Knight, so I'll just give some comments:
Good space management and stacking work. The weapon setup is well done, and I like how the three plows fit nicely around the sides of the bot. Some armor in the front would round it out quite effectively.
-
if i change the slipper bottoms to shinies they wouldn't touch the ground and id have 2 extra z-teks. As for front armor i put the DDts as close as the would go and due to the slope i cant put in any ram plates.
-
Ok heres a new bot(Middle weight): I forget the name it was wam and kill or something like that.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/87793Screen shot 2010-03-10 at 9.24.58 PM.png)
Slipperbottom wheels
4 zteks hp 2 for drive 2 for weapons
1 black volt
-
Nice!
I should probably nitpick by now, so you can still shrink the chassis. It could still be invertible with shinies, so with the free weight you can still add more armor or weapon breakers. :D
-
Not much more you can do with that bot. You could shrink the chassis a bit more and possibly change to shiny wheels, but overall it's as good as you can make it. Nice work.
Another possible option: Use a Nifty instead of a Supervolt; that should still be enough power and you will get a whole 14 kgs to add some razor tips or something.
-
For just starting out you build surprisingly well. With a little more practice you could build some pretty good bots. Keep up the good work.
-
It's been sometime since I last posted in here mainly do to the fact that either could not come up with any ideas or the ones i came up with, failed. Anyways heres one that didn't.
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/33464Screen shot 2010-07-03 at 12.14.59 PM.png)
It's sorta a popup grabber hybrid called "Raise your Hands and Destroy". The DDt's in the middle each have 2 razors and as well as damage, allow it to self right. The snapper ll's each have 4 razors. 4 Z-teks with Rubber wheels on each. And finally theres 3 Black Batteries to power it. I would like to add 2 snowplows on each side but i clearly don't have the weight. Any ideas on how make/decrease weight would be helpful.
And heres how it does:

Interesting design, I don't think I've seen one like this while I've been here. First thing to get the weight down would be to use only one DDT for the wedges, that save you a good 20+kg right there, I'm not sure if it only needs two Blackvolts, though, you might have to ask someone else on that. Maybe lose the plow on the top, I'm not sure it's completely necessary, it should fare just as well without.
Also, where did the other two ramplates on the front go? =O
-
2 DDTs (for self-righteousness!) and 3 blacks are fine. But yeah, the plow might not be necessary since it already has the side popups can do the job. You might want to add some side caster armor to make it fare better against HSes. :D
-
I thought the two DDT's with the popup arms on were for selfrighteousness. So two Small Wedges on one DDT would work fine. And the front DDT wouldn't be doing anything, so 4 HP Z-Teks, 2 DDT's and 2 Snappers...2 Blackvolts sounds roughly right, in my view.
-
One black would be powering the drive, an another black would only give adequate power for a DDT and Snapper2. Another black is always recommended, but it won't matter when the opponent lasts 10 seconds. :P
-
I guess not. =P Would be regarded as a measure of confidence.
-
Ditch the Black Volt and now have snowplows on each side. Weighs 792.6
-
Dp here is a new robot:
Destroyer of Life

(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/7165Screen shot 2010-12-28 at 1.01.45 PM.png)
It has 24 irons and 12 maces. I would like to have another black volt but as you can see I do not have enough weight. Ideas for increasing/decreasing weight?
-
If you're gonna have the motors as far out ass that, you'll definately need a snowplow to protect them.
I'd suggest using a 20 cm extender instead of that longer one anyway.
-
@Above robot: Are the weapons hitting the floor?
Seems like they are.
(....more or less, I don't know if it has hidden wheels or something)
-
Yeah, you'll probably want the motors facing up anyway, stock bots are mainly bulky anyway, so it's not like a bot's gonna be too low to get hit.
-
New Version:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/54802Screen shot 2010-12-28 at 6.04.07 PM.png)
The only problem is it's missing 1 iron.
-
you can use 20cms instead of 40cms to attach the motors to the snappers. you'll have to snapper load though. check out RA2: tips and tricks in the tutorials section to find out how.
