Weirdo's showcase
« on: April 25, 2009, 05:50:39 PM »
Hey,

been lurking around for about a week or two now, so I thought I might as well showcase what I've done so far...

so...

This is Reaper. Not great, but big improvement on past versions. Basically trying out the idea of an invertable VS. Also has small wedges on round extenders for a srimech, so it coulden't be flipped on its side and immobilised. The Slim wheels come out of the back of the bot, so it can't be flipped on its rear end either.

2 irons on the disk, powered by a HPZtech, normal HPs power the Slims.
Snappers power the srimech.
All powered by a black battery.

Welcome to the forums.  Some very simple advice for Reaper would be:

-You might as well put another two iron spikes on the disc, since you have weight and attach points.

-Static components like spikes work just as well as wheels on axle mounts for stabilizing bots, and they're more durable.  Try replacing the shiny wheels with iron spikes or something.

-Try to get as close to 800 kgs as possible, or else try to cut stuff out until it's a MW.  Underweight HW's aren't very effective against full-weight opponents.

There are other ways you can improve Reaper too, but I'm not going to overcomplicate things right now with glitches and stacking and stuff...

I like the design though, invertible VS's aren't seen very often.

To lack feeling is to be dead, but to act on every feeling is to be a child.

Double post. Sorry

New slightly improved Reaper.

And while I'm at it:

A MW called Reaper Jr. Origionally a pure flipper but its now a popup.

A LW called Mini Reaper, more similar in design to Reaper, but lacking in 'extras' (stablisers, 'invertable wheel', etc)

And a BW called Beetle Reaper with double spinning irons at the front. Is underpowered, but only to keep it within the weight.

I'll build and AW to round off at some point...

Make the chassis smaller, you'll be able to have more power on the Beetle.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

Updated BW. Smaller chassis. Slightly more power, but it seems to be enough.

1 single razor on an antweight = fail

You can get 3 razors and one nifty on an ant with plastic armor, believe me.

too much free space on that AW. you need to build a chassis so it only just fits the components, keep resizing the chassis till everything fits and there's no free space.
