I know they slow down after a minute or so but sometimes more weapons are better than the extra pink so you can outweapon the opponent and WPB. I don't get owned by starcore AW's, lots of my AW's dominate SC AW's. My AW's are not art either (except stock mini's), it's me attempting new but hopefully effective designs to keep things interesting and fresh, I do have more then one chassis too BTW and some have DSA some have plastic, some have 1 pink, some have 2 pinks and some even have 3. Look at Oil drill 2, it blocks rammers with the plow and drills at their tops causing some serious damage and possibly even KO'ing the rammer.

Snapper II isn't good as a hammer/popup burst sadly, just look at chest burster in SCAI it gets one shot off before it starts struggling. I like 3, 5 and 7 the best out of those and I also like the improvement on the kamikaze box.

For you Venko, this is a unique AW never created before I made it (to my knowledge). It has 1 pink, plastic and beats all Starcore AW's :

14 KO's
8 WPB's
2 TKO's

1 pink isn't bad is most of the time in the AW division, the thing is when the opponent has more battery life they will keep ramming head first into your weapons at good enough speed to cause fatal damage to that bot.

Thats because damage is calculated from the speed of the object from the weapon sources side (The robot).

So thats why Jugglers, Popups and Flail SnS/HS exist. They are very frequent fast hits. It's also why using axles as weapon motors is jokingly unreliable.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

The main downside to axle HS/Drums is that they can leave the front of the chassis wide open for attacks, that isn't a problem for Ugly Duckling though as the axe head usually stays on for most if not all of the match (as was the case when it ran through SCAI AW's). I was pointing out to Venko that it was a unique design back then, it only uses 1 pink and beats all SCAI AW's so his advice isn't really helpful and I bet if I swapped out one razor for an extra battery it wouldn't win as many matches.

I ran a 20 match series between these 2 similar bots... XOR has a smaller chassis, 2 pinks and a razor for the static weapon while Ugly Duckling has a bigger chassis, 1 pink and an axe head for the static weapon (both have 2 spinning razors on an axle and plastic armour). This should be proof enough that 1 pink is plenty in the AW division.

Hopefully you see my point Venko :)

New, experimental stuff :
I know that something like this was done before, but this is different :

Too bad it not perform that well as I expected.
Let's just hope it will inspire someone to build it better.
His tactic not work vs HSs and on some arenas.
This concept only needs a stabilizers to help it stay on its prey :

This preforms average on the tests.
The VSs are a problem.

@ ianh05 :
Sorry if my post sounded harsh to You. I didn't pick the right words for the advices. You can PM me which bots you want, so I to start work on their skins, if they don't have.
I know they slow down after a minute or so but sometimes more weapons are better than the extra pink so you can outweapon the opponent and WPB.
I have a different opinion on this. You can't do any dmg due to a snail speed even before the first minute.
I don't get owned by starcore AW's, lots of my AW's dominate SC AW's.
Of course, I wanted to point out that a SC AW win your tourney, my bad.
My AW's are not art either (except stock mini's),
Do You have a stock mini of mine bot btw?
it's me attempting new but hopefully effective designs to keep things interesting and fresh, I do have more then one chassis too BTW and some have DSA some have plastic, some have 1 pink, some have 2 pinks and some even have 3.
Can You showcase some of them, I'm curious, I get the impression that You use only the Triforce chassis, sorry.
Look at Oil drill 2, it blocks rammers with the plow and drills at their tops causing some serious damage and possibly even KO'ing the rammer.
Would be better if You replace the free axel with an extenders and 1 more razor, I have my doubts about the efficiency of the spinning.
Snapper II isn't good as a hammer/popup burst sadly, just look at chest burster in SCAI it gets one shot off before it starts struggling.
Sad, but true.
I like 3, 5 and 7 the best out of those and I also like the improvement on the kamikaze box.
Kamikaze box still have that drifting problems, it can't go straight driven by a human. #5 depends on your 140 extender politics...
Once again, sorry if I sound too direct and critic, I know You have good bots, I just wanted to say You to be more concentrated on the efficiency. I also do testing for CombatAnts, and 1 pink bots sux at generally... Also, a 4 AWs fight is something different...
Thats because damage is calculated from the speed of the object from the weapon sources side (The robot).
So thats why Jugglers, Popups and Flail SnS/HS exist. They are very frequent fast hits. It's also why using axles as weapon motors is jokingly unreliable.
QFT!
I will still stay with my opinion, meanwhile, I'm really keen to see a bot from You, that uses a chassis very different from that ugly duckling.

Well, sidefu*ker is interesting and unique for sure, but I doubt that is really an effective bot for top level combat.

On the other hand, I LOVE the idea of ITS A TRAP! And I have been experimenting with a similar sort of design recently, although to no avail.

The top bot confused the heck out of me lol. I would love to see that trap bot try and sit on a VS or drum in a video lol.

I think for variety (+ still combat effective) in the pack I will pick 3, 7 and Kamikaze box unless you have others you wish to showcase. 1 pink still deals damage after the first minute just look at Ugly Duckling, it KO'd one of the starcore bots with 4 seconds to go (all fights were 2 minutes) and you can't really argue with a 44 match (24 vs SCAI, 20 vs XOR) winning streak  .

Yep a Starcore AW did win one of my AW display tournaments, Wisk Broom is a pretty great AW but maybe it had an easy draw  :laughing . I don't think I have a Stock Mini of any of your bots, someone suggested (jokingly) a Mini - The Infinite...perhaps you can suggest one I could actually pull off as I'm still looking for a third mini to go on a team with Mini - Kritical and Mini - Little Darling.

Posted a selection of my own chassis in my own showcase so my pics don't spam up your showcase. I was thinking about making a high weapon rammer with the weapons angled down but I think on an AW it would just tip over, besides the drill is still effective and if you want I can send you the bot so you can take it for a spin then you can see that it grinds away until the opponent can barely move often resulting in a TKO :gawe: .

I totally want to make my own version of Trap.
It's idea is so simple, but it looks absolutely hilarious, which makes it all the more reason why it's awesome.

Also, out of curiosity, have you ever done anything involving any of the game's cheatbot2 parts?

They don't use the phrase "Venko bot" for nothing...

Yes, I have a few, but right now I don't have the time to find and showcase them.

lol you should try an AW version of insect that goes over other AW's and rips at the top of them.

A special AI that doesn't drive backwards will fix that, we just need someone who knows how to create custom AI.

It just needs an AI, that will spin the bot at 180, instead of driving backwards. Don't AI it as a rammer, 'cos they drive backwards a 'lil bit before the charging, try VS, popup, or something that pesky pursuits the chassis of the opponent, instead of making maneuvers...

Double posting, but it will worth.
I present a side FS (?) bot type :

It performs average with very variable results.
I can't think of improvements for now.
It usually takes more time for me to made the splash, than the bot, and You wonder why I can't showcase everything or build more...
Tell me what You think...

Been wanting to do something like this for like 5-6 years but never got around to it  :rage . Looks nice and is certainly innovative, but I'm not too sure about the drive being way out there like it, don't they get knocked off a bit often?

Do You see often a broken drive in the battleshots?
Also, I need the drive in this way, 'cos that's the only way, that I can have ground grip and drilling in any position and opponent size You can think of.
