Try redbirds for drive, VSes don't need to be fast.

HS's don't need to be fast. VS needs good drive to punt the opponent a fair distance. But you need to be sure you have the stability not to tip over forwards on the impact.

Isn't that what the weapon motor's for?

I think that would probably help.

If you have the weight, but the DDT wedge is priority. No matter how good the drive is, if it can't get under anything then you're screwed.

A VS does need good drive either way, as the opponent will be rushing into your weaponry, and if you're sitting still, the opponent's force will all be transferred into your weapons, and your robot will start to rotate upwards as a result of Newton's Second Law. One of the rare instances where RA2 physics corresponds to IRL physics.

^ lol clearly shows you haven't built a proper VS yet

You're clearly underestimating the weight lost by just attaching that DDT wedge system. The drive and stability are ALWAYS a priority, then the weapon system, then the wedge. If the wedge sucks, that's pretty much a couple of losses against popups and wammers only. A Snapper II-wedged VS can still take on hammers and FSes.

True, but most bots these days are either HSes, which will most likely knock off the discs or the HPzs, or the Extenders holding them up, or popups. ;)

I suppose I know diddly-squat about stock HSes, I only make MW and LW HSes.

Which is why you need to focus on the drive and stability first. VSes don't need a wedge to lift HSes up, but they do need good drive. And if the VS misses, it needs to make sure it can properly turn without the HS getting to its vital regions. A VS without both is either a glass cannon (like chained VSes) or just terribly built.

Badger, let better people teach to a newbie, thank you. And enough with the spam. There are already 2-3 pages of totally unrelated comments on this showcase, and I have better things to do than clean up showcases because some people can't shut up.

Anyways... Smashy, it's a bit better than average for a newbie I guess.

And listen to pwn. Himself particularly gives excellent advice, better than mine in Stock I would say.

Thanks for your help, Naryar, but TRB may not be the most experienced or best builder out there; but he's still worth listening to.

And btw, since you've built the only juggler that's wve won BBEANS; are jugglers effective in stock and are the any tips to make a good one (lol, sorry for sounding an idiot by asking )?

No, not quite.

The distance between him and SmashySmashy is the distance between Sage and someone who can't beat Lugnut.
