4-wheel drive is too fast for a big chained VS, in my opinion.  That weapon system isn't really built for charging and pinning bots.  Plus your bot is going to gyro dance any time you try turning at full throttle.

If you're using 4WD, I think it's better to use regular non-chained weapon motors, so they're less likely to stop and get stuck when you're pinning bots.

But it's a well built bot anyways.  You have good technique.  If anything, 4WD at least makes it original.

To lack feeling is to be dead, but to act on every feeling is to be a child.

Decent first atttempt. Kinda sloppy though. you should bring in those corners by the snappers.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.

I know there's empty space, but if I bring the corners by the snapers in, then I have to move the others out (because then there's not enough room for the drive) meaning I don't get anymore weight. (sorry if I didn't make any sense)

Unless you mean add more points on the chassis, which might increace the weight, because of the weight being calulated by surface area not volume. I'l try this and see if it makes any differance, it will look less noobish anyways.

While I'm posting does any one know where I can get the mesh viewer? The one on the bettlebros site is down.

If you increase points on the chassis to remove the space it will get lighter. The area on the side will remain the same, but the you will loose some on the top/bottom. If it's worth the work is up to you. Might be able to add a caster or two.

It's better to learn from using vertical Maces first, then change to horizontal so you have extra weight to add anything else.

Not that. He doesn't want to use the game to view the meshes. :P

Teh Genetic

Both have DSA, 2 blacks, HPZ drive/weapons and 36 maces/irons

Guess which one wins in a fight.

:arrow:The mace one

Now guess the setup.

Top one. Maces always beat irons.

And the setup: You have two blue snappers, one on each side of your batteries, both on the side attachment point, facing what I'm assuming is the front of your bot. You then have extenders coming off of the main attachment point, with their attachment points facing the front again. You have two weapon systems on each extender. For the drive, you have a longer extender facing sideways off of the snapper's hidden attachment point, with the HPZteks mounted off of their bottom attachment point.

Cool setup, but from my experience you should have a hard time driving smoothly with your drive mounted the way it is. When the HPZtek is facing the direction you have it, the wheel will have a hard time contacting the ground.

you should try and get the flat sides of the Drive motors parallel to the chassis. It will drive a ton better.

That's actually not quite right Roboshark, so here's an inside shot.

If I ever rebiuld it, i'll rotate the drive motors 90 degrees and remove the  (small amount of) empty space (not visible in the pic)

OH OH i know it!

just 2 20cms pointing inwards, the drive on the end of it, and 2 weapon motors on the 2 side attachment points. very weight effective setup, cept for your chassis. It's bigger than the average 36hs.

That was what i had in mind before i saw robos post, but then i went and looked back at the bot and didnt see the snapper axles pointing out the sides... didn't occur to me they were inside the wheels!

Ah, very nicely done. I just assumed that it was the way I thought it was from the position of the drive motors. Also, if you minimize the empty space in the chassis, you should be able to fit granny wheels on.

Nice setup. :D

I think AC's snapper setup uses less chassis weight. Try your 2-extender setup on that and maybe you'll have enough weight for something else (like R0B0 said, maybe slippers).

yes sage that's right (i knew it would be easy once you saw the inside)

Very powerful HW popup (often gets hits around 1500/2000 or more), 12 razors on 4 DTT's, 4 blacks, rubbers

The razors start inside the oppsite DTT and then filp out "through" each other.

Yes there's empty space and I think it's one notch to high, with the extra weight I'd make the wedges longer, but I can't be bothered right now.

Open for any (good) suggestions, especially about the ram plates (sometimes other wedges get stuck between them) and do you think I should get SCV4

Get all the razors facing like the top right one. Flat side = larger surface area = bigger hits!

you could probably use 2 blue snappers just to fit all the snappers closer together and still save weight.
