I make replicas from Robot Wars, you probably remember me from the RA2 forums.  Here are all the replicas I've done up to this point, leave any comments you have.  Expect more soon.

Robochicken, a weird poultry bot with a rear flipper and a pecker at the front.  Participated in several wars, but never had much c-luck.


Major Tom, another strange one, it sports a head made of a gumball machine and a union jack.  Its weapon is a large flipper in front


Steg-O-Saw-Us, once a Grand Finalist.  It has spectacular ramming power in the front and a flipping tail at the rear.  Contrary to poplar belief, it does not have tracks, just regular wheels


St. Agro, a flipping robot with a flipper on each face.  It flips itself over with every attack, but it's invertible, so it can keep on trucking


Mega Hurtz, a robot made mostly out of old computer parts.  Its weapons are a flipper made out of an old keyboard and two side axes.  Probably made just for the WTF factor, but a fun competitor neverthelss


Kronic, a standard flipper bot based on an eponymous blue hedeghog character.  A powerful flipper and spikes aplenty.  


Darke Destroyer, named after Rob Darke the captain. It has a propeller at the back and a moveable head at the front.  I couldn't find a good still pic, so watch instead to get an idea of how this robot worked


Atilla The Drum, a sit-and-spin bot with a strange chain weapon.  Serious control problems due to the fact that it starts out sideways, but its spinning ability is decent and I like the way it looks



Medusa 2000, a strange lifter that pushes itself up to lift opponents as well as a blade at the back.


Raizer Blade, a robot with a front flipper and a rear spiked tail.  I couldn't figure out how to skin extenders, so the flipping arm is tucked away in the picture.


Maverick, a bot with a pronged flipper, and isn't it refreshing that I build a decent fighter once in a while?

Stego's replica is cool.
I wanted Dark Destroyer to win (bur even if he looks cool, the engineering's average)

Perhaps I'll made a replica of it, too.

Darke Destroyer was an intriguing design, and it was unfortunate to fall victimto that arena spike.  The team rebuilt Darke Destroyer for the next season, ad the new design was a lot weirder.

Aggrobot 3, invertible with a flipper at the front and a pair of pincers at the back.  Largely unsucessful, which is a shame since this team participated in many competitions


Thunderpants, a bright robot shaped like a pair of trousers.  It's got a deadly hammer.  Pictures of this robot were hard to come by, because this bot clapped out seconds before its match, but I have done my best to interpret what it would be like if it worked.


A-kill, a strange bot with an axe and disc.  This robot was once a runner up in the middleweight melee, and according to the team capt, the axe has enough potency to crush a strawberry.  Now that's fighting talk.   This robot used way too many extenders


Inquisitor, a brightly colored robot with a zebra flipper and some nasty spikes.  This robot can easily lift and topple 125% its own weight, as it demonstrated on a house robot.



Mind Die-Nasty, one of the few robots gutsy enough to try its luck with a drill.   The drill is attached to a flipper motor in case it gets flipped over.  Great fun, but only did as well as you'd expect from a robot that makes holes the size of pinheads.


Tetanus, A strange rusty robot with a crushing weapon and forklift arms.  As you know, crushers don't work very well in the game, but it's fun to drive a robot that uses it own battery as a decoration.  The black rods are self-righting mechanisms that work well as flippers as a last resort.


Banshee, a hideous looking robot with a spinning base as a weapon.  No luck in Robot Wars, but a crowd pleaser nonetheless


Fat Boy Tin, a tall robot with two pokey spikes.  Obviously a joke entry, the force of its own weaponry can knock it off balance.  Still, who doesn't love a robot that goes out with a smile on its face?

Nice replicas.  It's too bad that most of them are hampered by RA2's chassis limitations.  Still you did well with what's possible.  I like A-kill and Atilla the Drum (though I thought the issue with sideways chassis bots was with turning, not driving).  What did you use for the wheels?  If you use non-wheels like discs, it will be more controllable, although possibly less pretty.

A-kill and Die Nasty are my favorites.

They were some pretty good competitors at RW, but still Battlebots is better because these house robots are unfair and too much pure flippers. I've never seen any VS at RW.

Very good work Sonny. I like all of them. It's really tricky to do with the limited possibilities of RA2. It seems you are a expert in skinning.

101, a simple design whose performance was worth its weight; a semifinalist once, and winner of the tag team terror.  Actually, any performance from this one would be "worth its weight" because it only cost 101 pence to build.  It's invertible, and has a deadly spike.



Arnold, Arnold Terminegger.  According to the event report, when this robot entered the arena, a woman in the audience jumped out of her seat and fled the premises. She was later identified as a cleaning lady from Dorchester by the name of Sarah Connor.   The robot has an axe for whacking enemies, and a lifting device as well.  It's a very weird design, and unfortunately its uniqueness never really translated to success.  I couldn't find a goodstill picture of this robot, so here's a video clip instead.  Click here



EDIT: To answer Clickbeetle's question, I used the Monster Wheels on Atilla, and I set their destructive factor to zero so that fighting with it would be challenging

Hi all,
Been busy, but now I've gotten around to more replicas.  I hope you missed the puns, 'cause I'm in that sort of mood.

Crusader, a six-wheeled menace with a front flipper.  There was no good way to get pointy things on the wedge, so I skinned a small wedge instead.  The flipper is quite powerful, so you'll regret it if you cross paths with this one


Iron Awe, a robot with a big axe.  I couldn't get the chassis the exact right shape, but I don't think it turned out too bad.  This team is still competing today, with a much more awesome version.


According to the robot-building guide on Gamefaqs, you'd have to be on drugs to create make a bot with 3 wheels.  I have the urine to prove I'm an exception.  This is Inverterbrat, a bot with a front flipper, and a sipinning disc that never worked.  With backbreaking effort, this robot made it to a heat final in series 3    



Indefatigable, a robot that lacks serious weaponry, but has a nice six-wheel drive.  While the forks are weak, I occasionally manage to lift and topple its opponent, so it's a nice challenge that I never get tired of.

Atilla has a very strange drive system.  When it's gold side up, the intended right-side-up, it can go in straight lines but not turn.  When it's red side up (which it usually is) it can turn in wide circles but not go straight.

I know they don't hold a candle to the bots in the other thread, but here are more of mine:


Bolt From the Blue, a robot that looks a lot like Lightning, but isn't related.  It has a flipper hidden in there to give its enemies a shock to their system


Mighty Mouse, a robot with little weaponry but great staying power, thanks to a rollbar that rights it whenever it's on its side or back.  I've designed the rollbar in a way that isn't too aesthetic, but actually works.  Weapons are teeth at the front and two saws at the back.  Surviving was all this robot needed to do in series 7 when it squeaked by to the heat final


Ming II, another robot from the Cotrell family.  It's got a front wedge for lifting robots, and a concealed flipper to finish the job.  Unfortunately, I didn't have enough space to inclue the pneumatic spikes, though.  This particular design appeared in series 4, where it was merciless against its opponents, but a mechanical failure took it out of the competition in a Flash.


Rambot, an invertible robot with a two-pronged flipper for weaponry.  It's quite good at tipping over opponents while simultaneously picking up points.    It was out in the first round of Robot Wars after butting heads with Behemoth

ok, Megahurtz, Tetanus, Steg-O-Saw-Us, 101, Darke Destroyer, AND Maveric ALL look good. I have tried some replicas, but they don't look right
