oh, I forgot

you can haz cokei

I wish I new how to jam popup stuff into a small chassi, all my popus are huge  :ermm:

A cookie with hints of cocaine in it? Odd, but thanks. :P
And you can have chassis less than half of yours if you know how to utilize the advanced building techniques. Mine uses quite a lot of snapper loading. As you can see, 2 HPZs and 2 DDTs are attached to a single Snapper II using only 2 20cm extenders. You can even slice a bigger block off of your chassis if you can stack batteries (not really a skill, just takes a lot of patience).

Speaking of patience, this bot was in the Robot Designs folder for 4 months until yesterday, when I was finally able to stack the CB inside the 2 stacked blacks. So here's my non-generic HS, Tunnel Vision 2:

2 blacks, 16 irons + 16 maces, 2 casters and you can see the rest. I was inspired by R0B0's 28 since his unique weapon motor setup makes it seem like there are 2 tribars connected to a single motor. I played around with the snapper placement, and came up with the perfect arrangement. But then, I was only able to stack a CB + black or a double black. Then I was snooping around in II AI's bots, then I took a closer look at Surge 2. I've always liked its design since it's impossible to tell which side is up from the outside, so I wanted to try a HW version of it. And it works quite well. One thing this has over other typical HW HSes is its size advantage. When popups slide under HSes, the wide reach of the HS gives the popup a large area of attack. But when it hits a shallow wedge, the next thing it will probably do it flip like a coin, damaging the top in the process. And this little bugger can occasionally go under bots from time to time. >:)

Finally a creative HW HS...

It would be even more awesome if you could build it in DSL.

Attach the wheels differently, you'll get a cool SnS if you want.

It looks more like Debaitor than 28... like a HW debaitor. Why did you have to stack the CB in the two blacks? Don't you have enough weight for a higher chassis?

How does it do against other HS?

It is really nice to see something incredibly original for a HSer.  Amazing work.

I really like it, but I'm also wondering why you had to stack 2 blacks and a control board.

I don't seem to understand why you guys think it's so original.  It's a disc-HS, they've been built before, just not as much in stock.

Do you need 2 blacks for this though?  (sorry, been paying too much attention to CB's power consumption thread)

BTW Pwn, you stole my idea.  Now I have to think of something else to build :P

Agree with ounce on the originality part. If it had tribars instead of discs it would not be original.

On the battery, two blacks is good because with one the bot will only last for 1.5 minutes (roughly).

52000 total power / 600 power drain per second / 60 seconds per minute = 1.45 minutes.

Right, so it will last for about 3 minutes with two blacks, and not slow down too much. As long as it's able to draw 100 PUs each second it should run as fast as possible, but my in game experience somehow tells me differently...

That was a chassis I planned to use for a 28 clone, but I don't wanna build that for the meantime. Then I did some mental calculation and thought that this setup would work as well. Oh well, you guys'll see my boring 36-HS soon, as well as something creative-ish. :D

Here it is! This is Fission:

Your everyday 36-HS, but with nicely placed weapon motors and a caster for maximum protection. I was kinda amazed that Surge 2 and ArtillerY were still invertible even with components going over the wheels' reach. I tried it here, and it's invertible as well. Kewl.

And here's a slightly more exciting bot, Apophysis:

2 blacks, 4WD, 8 razors and 8 maces, 2 plows. Inspired by Sage's juggler, I tried to improve it and add my own twist into it, but the evil wedge problem again. It can only rival Infra's. D:

oooo I actually like that HS. Is it completely invertible? Cause I've had bots like that where it can move, but not very well.

The juggler is very nicely done, but yea, wedges are a problem on jugglers because all the weight is in the back. I find maces to be a little less effective on jugglers because they have more concussion than piercing. Maybe try razors on top and irons on the edges?

I almost cried BFE until I figured out the setup on the HS. Also, I find that more baseplate components = better wedges, so complex bots will always have a tough time with wedginess. Very well done though.
