Been playing around with a fun concept that's sadly a failure. Oh well, here it is:

The Thing That Should Not Be (yes, I know I listen to too much Metallica). 4 blacks, 4 razors. I was aiming for a full caster front so it can be a VS-killer, but with only a plow, it usually loses to Clockwork Hydra and Infernium to a close match. I might sacrifice 2 blacks for a full front and more razors when I have the time.

Why don't you make it a hammer bot instead? The trapping design would seem to lend itself better to a bot that attacks from the top.

Too lazy to rebuild the chassis and place all the casters again. So I just removed the tanks and 2 blacks, so here's the result:

797.3. Brackets are for stability. And it has 6 razors. Better, but still sucks.

There's no reason that bot needs to start out upside down... I would think it would be simpler just to build it with a right side up chassis.

Also it's probably bad because of the tilted-up chassis. Any bot with a tilted-up chassis will automatically have worse wedges because of the way driving in RA2 works (I'll save you the detailed explanation). Conversely, any bot with a tilted-down chassis will, in theory, have better wedges.

Caster armor is good for trapping spinners, but the rest of the bot looks way too fragile, and maybe unstable too. I would try and use less casters and more armor elsewhere.

Yeah, which is why I build prototypes first, so I don't need to waste too much time building a bot before realizing that the setup's a failure. Oh well, trying to clone one of Inf's bots (I think it's Quark. I forgot which). Expect it soon. :D

Done!

This is Impulse. I couldn't figure out Quark's setup because I couldn't make mine invertible. And it's too glitchy to be effective. Bummer.

So I downgraded the weapon motor and tried to strengthen the drive (at the same time widen the wheelbase) and then came Impulse 2!

The exposed drive isn't really a big matter. For some reason, Drone & CPIV couldn't touch them. Less glitchy, but glitchy nonetheless.

But this isn't all bad, though. I can use this setup to make a CPIV clone.

@ Reier - I think it spins just as fast as a non-enhanced HPZ. So I think it's fine. Kicked Tempus' butt on its first try. :P

@ JB - Exposed, but not too exposed. Even Zenith couldn't pop those off without getting rid of the plow first.

Here's my Doomed Bots entry, Hyperbola:

It was supposed to be an angled juggler, but no matter what setup I use, it looks like Sage's Baby Bull. Average wedges though (no better than Epic Jr.'s), but once a bot gets on top, it's most likely to get destroyed.

I'll just AI it tomorrow. Too lazy at the moment (addicted to Plants vs. Zombies).

it does look like baby bull, but the setup is different. personally i think having stuff on the snapper makes the wedge worse, but IDK.

And since all of my former HS lose to Fury, I made an AI'ed grudge match against it. And all that's left after the match was the central mace! :O

Im so sorry to be a pest, but this is bugging me now.

How did you manage to put an extender through the snowplow? I can't seem to do it myself.
