Oggie's showcase
« on: May 01, 2009, 07:13:21 PM »
I'm bored of making crap MW face spinners now, so I rather start off my showcase.

First bot out is Lil Spinner.

Pros:
-Stable
-Short spin up time.
-DSA

Cons:
-Exposed weapons/wheels
-Not invertible

Why isn't it invertible?  Couldn't you easily use a 90 degree baseplate anchor and put the motors in the front to make it invertible?

Otherwise it looks like a pretty good bot.

I guess I could do that, but wouldn't that make the weapon motors even more exposed? It almost never get flipped around as it is either, so it's not that much of a problem.

My latest atempt at a MW Face spinner:

I liked the idea and the stacking. That said the bot is crap, so I better start think of something new. For some reason the discs aint aligned while the weapon motors are :S

I think thats a minor AGOD, I have seen sometimes my bots wheels spin like its offcenter or disc wobble a little when its on a baseplate mounted Ztec.

Not AGOD, just the bad flexing of the snapper.

Here are 2 more atempts at MW FS:

None of them are my entry. I will showcase that one when all bots are in.
Both of them are quite OK, but not good enough to fight the mighty Naryar. I guess I most of all tried to make something different than Billy Goat Gruffier.

Rolling Eyes was made to awoid the bots with 2 wide wedges, but I guess Face Roller is the only MW FS with 2 wide wedges anyway. Face Roller was made to test out how one spinner with thougher weapons would do. It turned out to loose the weapons first because of lower dmg and same hp. And it had huge problems when other bots came on the other side of the plows, which they often did (driving over the bot).

I'm actually planning to build something really like your Rolling Eyes.

Also i don't know why all of you guys must use plows... i really don't think a FS fighting another FS needs a plow.

Well... I'm using a plow to protect my HP Z-Teks, but it seems like he's using his for trapping.

That's right. And with a tiny chassis like on my entry it's good to have for stability too, alongside with the protection of HP Z-Teks and discs.

Here comes my entry for Brawl of the Builders:

-All the parts are glitched on a Snapper II.
-Snapper2 for the wedge.
-Caster armor

As sage's it can't drive forward and turn left (only one at a time) while the weapons are spinning. I also wanted to add something to the top to stop bots from going over my bot, but it won't drive properly without the casters. Maybe I'll try to update it sometime.
