What armour?
-
Pink batterys are not v.good for HWs.

Agreed, just stick to 2 blacks.
Now to mention "Normals".
(I've told him about Square extenders and armour)
-
Don't use square extenders. They weigh more than round ones but are no stronger.
-
this is my first revision, the bot is faster, really suprising with only this minor change

didnt alter the small batteries yet, but what do i have to do if there isnt any space for a 2nd black battery pack ?
-
To build on what these guys said, car steering is so bad it's unbelievable, use High Power ZTeks. Pole spikes have normals (only do damage at one small point) so don't use them - iron spikes are better. Not sure is the battle axes have normals but you could replace them anyway. Finally, replace the buzzard wheels with Shiny Hubs, they weigh less.
Gotta say though, I saw it and thought woooah, that's impressive. Mainly because it's big. Most builders conecentrate on 1 weapon system but this has lots and it surprised me, different to the usual 'THIS IS MAH BOT' which has like a singular spike.
EDIT: I see you've got to the wheels already :P

a revision, i kept using pink batts

he is a lot faster, amazing dude, thanks in advance
edit: ill also alter the front steering so i dont have to use the car steering anymore

Get rid of car steering all together.
-
ok, another question, how much power do i need to power this baby ?
3 black batt packs ?
-
2 I think.
-
Get rid of all these pinks, use shiny hubs or slipperbottoms, and use all HPZteks for drive. Then try to shrink the chassis and use DSA armor (strongest in stock, weakest in DSL) by not clicking the armor tab when you make your chassis.
-
First thing I thought when I saw the bot was "That is a mean looking bot!" There is ample room to improve, but still not bad for a beginner.
I would change the following:
Motors - Car steering is terrible. Four HP Z-teks would make for a much better drive system. (If you are not sure how to program it to steer, I'm sure someone could explain it to you.)
Wheels - Shiny hubs are the best wheels. If you cant use those, use slipperbottoms as they're second best.
Armor - I'm not sure what armor you have used, but Double Strength Aluminum is the best. DSA is a "secret" armor. You can get it by completely skipping the armor tab when building your chassis.
Batteries - Small battery packs (pinks) are generally only used in a situation where you have absolutely no chassis room for anything else (i.e. LW or small MW). Use Supervolts (blacks) in HWs.
Chassis - Chassis could be made a bit smaller. Making the chassis smaller reduces your weight and gives you the ability to put more weapons on it.
Weapons - Your weapon choices aren't too bad, but pole spikes and spike strips have normals (meaning they will only do damage at the tip). Use Iron spikes, which have no normals.
Extenders - Never use square extenders. They weigh more than the round ones but have the same strength. It you have trouble rotating the round ones, here is a tip. For every nine "clicks" you rotate it, it has went 180 degrees.
Well, I think that is just about it. I hope my explanations have helped.

It's actually 1 click per 10 degrees. So 9 for 90 degrees and 18 clicks for 180 degrees.

At minimum, 4 HPZs (High Powered Z-Teks) can be powered by 1 black battery. I recommend 2 though, because you also have the burst motors.

hi fellas,
here is my 2nd bot, I think it rocks, I can now kinda easy defeat Starcore 1 bots (I guess thats kinda good for a noob like me :p), I do need to say Ive had inspiration from the Starcore mod but hey, who didnt ?
here are some pics:

i dont think it can be improved very much but perhaps there is something to alter at the rotating axes (?), but if you have an idea, shoot :D

thanks everyone for the help, my bot has improved very much, and the tip about the rotating is also really good !
ive just completed another bot which is really cool, what do you think https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=3685.new#new (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=3685.new#new)

Hey I don't normaly do stock so correct me if I am wrong.
Dont use different weapons on different ends of a spinner weapon. It makes it unbalanced and vibrate.
If you get rid of the two razor tips and baseplace anchors at the back you can fit another black battery there (I think).
RAD's are probably not enough for the a HW. Try to fit Ztecs and make it invertable.
As previously mentioned in your other thread try to stay away from the Pink Batteries.
Also don't create a new showcase for each bot you make. Admins dont like it and it clutters up the forum.
-
Please showcase all your bots in the same thread. Next time they will simply be deleted.
-
Excuse me for making a second post, im kinda new at GTM. It wont happen again !
Thanks for the tips guys, ill make work of it

dont put weapons on the back of your bot, the AI attackes the front not the back
