I was around before StarcoreAI V3 was launched and I quit playing just after DSL got launched. I think I quit around 2004/2005 and had been around for some years by then.

Most of the people here that have been around for a while (like myself, Sage, Scrap Daddy, Jack Daniels) popped up in around 2005/2006, you're a little before our time.

Some of the bots you posted in the Battleshots thread look pretty cool. Could you post some better angles in here? Thanks.

Here's a MW VS I like.

Slingshot:

Specs: Double HP ztek spinners with 4 razors each, double static wedges, double HP ztek drive, can self right.

I might replace the razors with maces, don't know where to lose the required weight though..

Could post some battle shots/results if anyone is interested.

This is the first bot I showcased when I came on the other forum, it was very controversial back then. I wasn't even playing SC yet when I built it.

For the MW, weight can be gained by shaving off parts of your chassis (like the middle slope) and minimizing extender weight.

You could try putting them on 2 Snapper IIs so it can be wedgier. :D

The first bot is hardly an old design, looks competitive albeit a bit underweaponed!

Nice bots though. Lots of old style but new at the same time.

Thanks for the tip but if I wanted to improve on Mortal Sin I would have done that a long time ago. Instead I built a completely new bot which became Tristandon. Mortal sin was built before I knew about all those nifty glitches and tricks and before I had ever been on a forum. It must be like 8 years old..

Here's a VS/HS hybrid I did. It's kinda slow but it has 6 boosted spinners with irons that extend way beyond the chassis on all sides to make up for it. It's core weakness is the redbirds for drive motors

That VS/HS looks quite good. You could maybe put the two Horizontal spinners on one servo to save some weight, possibly swap the discs for some fairly simple extender work, and you might have the weight for HP Z-Tek drive.

Thanks for the tip NFX. I might lose the discs but I'm not sure about the servo's. I wired the servo's such that I can swing the HS motors forward if needed, if I go for a single servo I lose that ability.

I did a rebuild for Tristandon today. I got rid of all the square and angled extenders and gave it DSA which gave me very nice weight advantage. I tried a few ideas for what to do to reach the weight limit. Tried to give it caster armor for instance but that didn't seem to make any sense.. now i've come up with this:

It now has 4x HP ztek drive! But I'm not sure if I like it, it used to be much more stable and less havoky then it is now. Any other suggestions?? I might just enlarge the chassis to give room for those motors with regular attachment.

Try just 2WD and double up on weapons.
