Ramplates wont work. I forgot to mention this, but because the DDTs are mounted on Snappers, they tend to "bounce" and occasionally pop out from behind the ramplate. So a snowplow might work better.
Try mounting the Snapper2 on its side rather than its back. The plane of rotation won't conflict with the bot's plane of normal movement, so they shouldn't wobble quite so much. Then you'd be able to stick two ramplates on the front. =]

Conraaaaaaaaaa's latest bot inspired me to make one myself:

I have a feeling the arms are too long, because they are a little exposed, and occasionally the hazards(yes, the hazards) end up noming them off. But they have ideal reach for the front, and each arm can do like 600+ damage. So I'm not sure what to make of it.

Though I could just be un-original and make this a pop-up instead, because to my surprise:

Yes, Splash Attack's wedges are lower, and better then Crazy Gadgets.

.....And for some reason the bot looks like Pinkie Pie's hair.

Felt like trying to make it into a Pop-up:

It still gets under Crazy Gadget, but Waterbug gets under it.
....But Crazy Gadget gets under Waterbug.
So how the heck does that even work?

Anyway, I think I'm doing this wrong, but it being a pop-up.
That, or this chassis-idea just ultimately failed :/

Probably because razors are better than Irons on Pop-ups. So maybe change the Irons to razors and stack another Black.

J attempts "realistic" bots in Stock
« Reply #666 on: June 23, 2011, 07:41:20 PM »
I'm going to challenge myself by attempting something that's neigh impossible.
And by "impossible", I mean to make good realistic bots in Stock(or at least try to).
Plus, this will give me something to do until I come up with a good idea for something else.

As a start:

Oh, and he has 2 blacks. Which I forgot to mention.

Just merged this with your old showcase. It's not necessary to make a new one. Besides, we like your style. :P - Pwn

use razors

How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Does that mean pop-ups can be realistic?

Also, try to use Shinies if you can.
Rubbers are better for this

Also, try to use Shinies if you can.

Most newcomers THINK this is good advice, however there are instances where rubbers are useful, especially if you have the weight for it. They give you a lower ground clearance, and thus better wedges, which is useful on this style of robot. =]

And the weaponry looks a little bit slapdash for me, in all honesty.

insides:

I'll probably make a HW version of this, as it would give me more room for the DDT to fit inside the chassis.

Does that mean pop-ups can be realistic?

...damn
Yea, but lighter bots are going to be harder to make >__>
We need more realistic stock bots.
*Plans to make an HS next*

And the weaponry looks a little bit slapdash for me, in all honesty.
Yea, it does. And razors would almost always end up touching eachother.
...And that would defeat the purpose of realistic.

It would appear that realistic HSs are possible in stock:

All of the wheels touch the ground in the test lab, but when you go to battle with it, the drive wheels only touch the ground 50% of the time.
.........
RA2, you are so random.

On the MW, rotate the wedges snappers 180 degrees.  This will give your wedges a wider stance allowing it to get under things more easily.
Tournament Record: 94 Wins - 50 Losses
Challenge Record: 2 Wins - 2 Losses

I make typos all over the place. You guys know that.
....And I always get ragged on whenever I'm too lazy to fix them >__>

On the MW, rotate the wedges snappers 180 degrees.  This will give your wedges a wider stance allowing it to get under things more easily.
You know, the MW could actually go with having just 1 black, as I could then (hopefully) fit the DDT inside.
And without using the ramplate, it would give me more weight for a better weapon.
