If I had the tech know-how and a troll-y attitude I'd make it so that Darth Vader's theme automatically played here.  So just imagine it is.

Here to do some noob-whacking?

actually im playing off the girly harry pooper series. hence the money pit mulitplex finale.

but the first thing m looking for from all my former friends and minions is a general review of the II AI pack I put out after I had already left before. I'm going through the collections of all my old bots now and making final revisions to the pack. My most revered, somehwat original, first edition builds.

will you follow the new trend aka IRL building? some kids started it and now it seems everyone does it.

I for one welcome back our old immoral overlord.
Title: Re: The Dark Lord Rises: INF 2.0
Post by: infiniteinertia on July 29, 2011, 12:15:37 PM
actually. i started the IRL trend, especially in DSL. nobody followed what i tried to implement for the better of the game, and it was one of the reasons why i left...HMMMM

no time to revisit that though. I will always build how I have always built, in stock and dsl.

Great to see you back, Inf. And yes, IRL building has become a fair bit more popular in DSL, with a lot of tourneys running it.

Hope you stick around, anyhow :)

Love how he hasn't even posted a bot yet and his showcase has three pages (most of it were deleted, by the way)

Anyways, welcome back, blah blah blah... Now see if you can stay for more than a week, unlike the last 5 or so times you've returned :P

And I've been hearing rumours that this Inf is going to be a kinder, gentler Inf (in relative terms, of course). This true?

I'm working on some heavyweight rebuilds and finalizations. Just popped off a few kg of an up to date Radiance IV, as pysc would have liked to see fit. A few are finished alreadt and are just awaiting armor completion/texture.

i dont have anybodies teams anymore other than my own, duck.

anddddd yeah that's/will be Radiance IV. Upgrade to Radiance 3 on my Elemental team. Shaved about 12 kg off of the old chassis, optimized room for better wedges (now on Green Snappers, and they are uber-level), and re-worked the setup to fit on more optimized armor that is favorable for going against HSes. Still finishing the armor/skin as said, and it currently only weights 679.something. 12 razors, 4 blacks, HP Drive, DDTs for weapons...you know the deal.

Is it possible for you to spam more ramplates just to get the front end a little better protected? I can imagine a well armoured HS taking the ramplates out after the initial charge.

Yes yes I hope R.IV will be its final edition, and the hardest of all popups (:<

S32 is still alive/around/annoying as heck? At least two of those things surprise me.

I guess I pissed off all of the Europeans...well at least I dont give a damn! In the end...Europe is going to be an example to the world of how not to function as a society.

And no, if you can't stack, that sucks. Downloading anything to help you is 110.2% cheating. If you really haven't figured it out yet...well...sucks to suck because it takes 30 seconds or less to stack a battery.

Stacking is effected by all sorts of things like operating system that have nothing to do with the game, so I can't really agree 100% with you there.

I will show everything on R.IV when it is finished. I like detailed splashes. It is pretty unspectacular on the inside anyway. The only nice thing about it is the widened front wedge despite the chassis' new-found narrowness.

Stacking bar none is affected by nothing other than graphics card. I believe. And i've been able to stack on every computer I've ever used, which ranges from very sh**ty cards to very nice cards.

Just thinking out loud here... If you have 100+kgs left, you could make it a 6WD popup. Would be rather original in Stock, (I did it in DSL and it helped a lot for 1HKOs) and it would be stupid fast... which is kinda the point.

I built 9 LWs yesterday *wipes off sweat*, BUT YOU WILL SEE NONE OF THEM HEHEHEHEHEHE

Badnik: I tried to, at least in DSL. But no one listened at first...surprising right?

Natef: Not completely in my hands anymore. Might pass the entire project on to Sage(?) if he wants it. I've been away too long, and it's been forever since I started the initiative to get it done. I have to worry about my AI pack and my secret AI project.

Don't get why you put the casters so low...
The side casters protect the wedges, but I dunno whats up with the front ones actually, although they probably keep over-enthusiastic pop-ups from hitting the lower-front.

EDIT: For keeping away HW longbow clones at bay then :P

The heck would I want to do that for?

Looks brilliant, inf. =) I'm just wondering why the outer ramplates are intersecting the chassis like that, would it be possible to straighten them up a little?

mmm they dont always intersect. It's just the flex of the snappers sometimes as it moves.

Don't get why you put the casters so low...

Had weight left, and madman&Pwn are right...undercutter/Longbow (you're gay Sage :P) protection. Any chassis protection on a popup I can get, the better.

Nice

I'm assuming the outer ramplates are attached to the wedges, due to them intersecting the chassis

All four are.

Nice; caster placement is good.

How consistently does it score quick KOs (or for that matter, can it score OHKOs)?

Umm, quick enough to pwn?

Definitely the best Radiance to date. And this is the final version. Hope everyone likes.

Yeah, but Caster armour is better :P So when it is struck from a point behind the blades it doesn't break.
Also provides some degree of protection for the side.

Needs moar ramplates.

Nah joking inf, looks nice. How are the wedges? I'll bet that those 4 ramplates give them quite some downpushing force. Have you tried them against Insectoid (or iNCineration 4)?, I found that it has way better wedges then NWB (at least in the BBEANS arena).

Otherwise, nice looking bot, needs no more razors. Even if you don't get a OHKO, if something's lifted, it's lifted and it won't (shouldn't) come down.

This is Lightkeeper. Built just before I left before. I was unhappy that I built it to be the best of all RPB style munchers, and it fell victim to the Havok syndrome.

Seeing that NC is working on a very impressive one right now, it inspired me to see how I can rebuild this? Which is kind of odd in itself because theoretically it is perfect.

Well, yeah, it's very good. I think I'll have to seriously rethink my design, it has two snowplows ontop which is pretty unnessary.

You said green snappers have the best wedges right? Maybe you should swap those DDT's for snappers, get longer wedges and possibly use rubbers.

P.S.: Please make a different splash next time, it hurts my eyes  :ouch:

@That Robot Is a Spy: No such thing as a trapping FS without some very gimmicky servo work.

I'm dropping the HP weapons for regulars. Dropping the DDT's for Green Snappers (which are better). Planning on using the extra weight for using two baseplates and one snapper to mount everything off of instead of the 2 snappers as is. It just doesnt hold well havok wise in this format.

Sorry NC, it was my BOTM splash a while ago.

DDT's have better torque, but SnapperII's give you a shallower angle. Nobody knows what makes the best wedges, that's why we still have the endless wedge war.

Lightkeeper actually looks pretty good. I like the compactness of it especially.

However, I need some feedback, about II AI. SO...

Anyone who has/would like II AI and would also like to critique my very own AI pack...please thoroughly answer these following 5 questions!

Which bots...

1.) Are the best/hardest for you to go up against?
2.) Do you like a lot, but want something more from?
3.) In your opinion, need a serious update?
4.) Need a complete makeover?
5.) Are your favorite?

Please give me some good details/feedback...(TELL ME WHY, ETC.)...I need to start working towards a v1.0 release and throw the silly v0.1 Beta in the trash!

well, theres this:

Wavelength (LW) - Will be replaced
Medium 2 (MW) - Will Rebuilt (OLDEST Version I have of any bot in my pack)
Platform of Death III (HW) - Will Rebuild with better wedges as P.O.D. IV
Vertical Horizon (HW) - Will be further improved with slightly different version with better wedges
Silver Bullet 2 (HW) - Will lighten snapper setup to try and rebuild with single wedge as SB III
Quark (LW) - Havoks when AIed )=
3 2 1 What (HW) - Used as filler
Disdain V (LW) - Axle-stack FAIL
Minimum (MW) - POSSIBLE Rebuild for better wedges
GreenSpawn (MW) - BTW Never saw Aedes before I built this; Needs better wedges
Radiance 3 (HW) - Better Wedge Rebuild; more armor coverage; possible swith to inline-four HP drive
Vital Force (HW) - Needs to be better built with better wedges
Shock (LW) - Technology/Weight Reduction Upgrade
Switch Of Death (HW) - Better wedge rebuild
Se\/ere (HW) - Needs Cleaner Setup; possible use of actuating wedges; needs better wedges
Kataclysm (HW) - Something needs to be changed...
Rolo II's (LW,HW) - Fillers for production delay
Dazed/Dimension 2 (MWs) - Both will probably get rebuilt in favor of better wedges
Wipeout (HW) - Will most likely get moved to team "Polar Destroyers" to fill 2nd HW spot and be renamed "Whiteout", better wedges
Photon (LW) - Didnt work as wanted, rebuild or scrap heap
Lightkeeper (HW) - Will use a different compact chassis to get rid of teh HAVOK

I KNOW Breaker is a better Scabies.

I KNOW Drowning Pool is an emulation of Clickbeetle's 'Sacrifice' Series

I KNOW some of these bots were used in RE-Stocked (Will Change)

I KNOW Infra was going to be used as Inside the Clock, but SC4 is going nowhere

None of the bots radius, turnspeed, turn, or throttle have been edited. Suggestions welcome for greater/lesser values

PB/Madiaba - Need Help getting Drowining Pool to flip over and then drive after inverting

I will go through the bots again though to see if I pick up on anything.

OK, All the LW hs seem to be unstable, Maybe some could have plows/ramplates/castors. Specktrum and Pulse seem to be almost exactly the same (please inform me of the differences). The single HSs could do with meltybrain AI so they can actually move. Personally I like Wavelength, I'm sure it could be rearranged to get a plow on. Kontra could be made invertible. I agree Shock could be upgraded with more compact chaining.
More to come, my mind is jumbled.

...and that's pretty much it, unless you're still nitpicking about the wedges.

What happened to that one MW you had that looked kinda like that but with 2 HS motors on HPZ and HPZ drive and a wedged front that was supposedly the best MW you ever built?

Isn't that Kritical or something?

I'm nitpicking at everything. Especially wedges. And overall destructiveness.

I'll do my best to somehow make some of the LW HSes less generic...even though at the time they were all built, NO ONE built HSes like that...which is why I semi-recycled the same design.

And yes that is very similar to Kritical. Kritical is pretty damn good at what it does, but it is not epic.

uhh a lot of the popups in your pack do not self right at all, other than that everything else has been said.

also what ever happened to this bot? wasn't good enough?

Sorry I beat you to it, hes on my thirteenth team. Did this guy like last June.

Khronic I still have... He just didn't fit the theme of my K6 team. Plus if I remember correctly he has blue snapper wedges...I guess he would be a good candidate for a slight design fix/team move.

I've been building a ton of LWs for my SuperSecret AI project, so I figured I should finish out all the LWs on I.I.AI that I planned on rebuilding. Kontra was just an overhead ripoff of one of my trademark designs, Spin Cycle, so I planned on making Kontra a completely new design...I plan on using it for the Un-Generic-Ness Tourney, if it happens.

248.3, DSA, Redbird Drive, Nifty.

Looking pretty awesome. Shame it's not invertible, though.

The chassis shape overall makes the bot pretty stable. The only time it ever really has an issue with invertibility is against one dimensional HSes, which is really the only bot type that gives it any issue...and it still has a good winning percentage against them. Overall, it can be a bit fragile at times, with the redbird somewhat exposed to random weapon strikes, but I'm okay with that...as this bot wins fights early and fast, it's not really meant for a long haul match.

What is the weapon rack attached to? An anchor? If so you could offset the anchor and use a round extender instead of a t connector, and then use a ztek instead of a rebird, making it invertible and more damaging,

The tournament rules only let him use 56 kg on the HS weapon though. But I'm trying (it's more "I tried" at this point) to debate that.

lol

I liek both bots, but Fracture's is better cuz it looks invertible-ish. Inf's is just flat-out not invertible.

Fracture's might be invertible, but I'm not too sure about it. I might have a crack at this sort of robot tomorrow. =) I reckon inf's setup is a SnapperII holding both a Redbird and a T Connector, so I'm not sure if he could get the weight for a Z-Tek without losing the caster.

Read:
I plan on using it for the Un-Generic-Ness Tourney, if it happens.

i.e. no popups and probably no flippers considering it has to be either built off a Snapper or use a 140 cm extender AND (unofficially) only a maximum of 56 kg can be used on the HS if a hybrid is built. So there's not much he can do to improve it.

I will fall in love with inf('s bot) if he skins the razors, wheels, and caster red. RED PAINTJOB THREE REDBIRDS RED EXTENDERS RED EVERYWHERE. I like it already though. The Redbird shouldn't have too hard of a time getting the KOs.

I worry because

1. Most LWs are one-dimensional HS. Hatred won't make them disappear

2. The redbird knocks the robots away from the ramming rack and opens it up to be flanked easier.
