Old threads. I've seen cool stuff in FB's DSL showcase.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

"Stacking batteries and other components. Some components can be overlapped in the same spot if you position them just right. Baseplate anchors are very easily stacked, and so are small battery packs. Supervolt batteries can be overlapped too, although they are a little more difficult. And if you're really skilled, you can overlap a battery or a baseplate anchor on your control board. Many other stacking combinations are possible, but they are not as useful and I won't bother mentioning them.  Stacking components can save a lot of space, and thus weight, in your bot, especially if it uses multiple Supervolt batteries.
To stack 2 components, place the first one where you want it to be on the baseplate, then hover the other component over the first one until it lets you place it. Usually, they must be perfectly aligned in one dimension and slightly offset in another. It is easier if you get the camera pointing straight down at your baseplate, go to the Overview tab, zoom in all the way, and then go back to the Components tab. This lets you get a higher zoom on your bot as long as you click the "attach" button before moving the mouse onto your bot."

I have done it!

Looking at it now i probably could bring the chassis size down some more but for my first working popup, I'm very proud of it.

2 New Bots
« Reply #52 on: February 28, 2009, 08:10:38 PM »
Been way too long since my last update so I have 2 new bots to showcase. At least I've had time to improve my splash making skills.

#1 NEFARIOUS BIDDING

The splash says it all.
I probably should mention that the right side wheels are slightly AGOD thus it drives like a bitch. Apart from that, if it gets under you, you're toast.

#2 MAY FRIGHTEN SMALL CHILDREN

With BBEANS 5 coming up, I thought I should brush up on my HS building skills. Without a doubt, this is one of the best bots I've built. I don't know if this is a pure HS but it does have 36 spinning weapons of some description so it's pure in my book.

I like your FS.

It could probably be built with less than 6 snappers however...

Well that makes one of us. It's not nearly as good as it should be. I just need to find the time to rebuild him

If it's done better, Nefarious bidding could pass off as Rabid Pit Bull's replacement.

RPB doesnt need a replacement. how many of your bots wins a head on fight with it, besides HS?
