Reier: Thanks.
Gropaga: I don't think they're needed either, but I didn't have the weight for anything that would be more helpful, I.E. ram plates
Pwnator: Same as above
Naryar: I tried to use the ~50 KGs for something that would help, but there wasn't a lot of room to work with. This was the best setup I came up with. Any ideas on how to use the weight better?

Try freeform drawing your chassis now instead of locking it on to save weight from unused space in the chassis. It doesn't have to be perfect, but as long as you shear some weight off. I would also recommend using shiny hub wheels since they're the lightest wheels available, meaning more weapons. If you have the grannies for invertibility, then it would be best to learn how to get the minimal height possible for your components.

What you do is drag the height bar all the way down, then move it one tick up so it snaps up to its normal height. Then count up 5 ticks, and you will have the lowest possible chassis for your components. I usually go 6 ticks up for wedges from the green snappers, but since you don't have green snappers, you don't need to go up 6 ticks.

40757-
1.Many parts of the current chassis already free-formed, or the minimum size. The HPZ require either 3 blocks across their widest part or so close that they can hardly be improved, for example. I should be ableto save a few KG's on the center shaft at least, however. I never changed it from when I had two baseplate extenders there, so it's way too wide
2. I'm using grannies because they seem to be the smallest wheels that don't drag the spinners. I'll check again after the chassis redesign, though.
3. I currently have it at 6 ticks so that I can place the CB on top of the supervolts.

Definitely getting better. What you might want to do, though, is spread the spinners out across the front a bit more, to get a wider range of attack. If you also rotate them so the flat side's pointing upwards, instead of a corner, that'll help with invertibility. Plus the collision mesh (Press F12 to reveal) won't lift up the front wheels, and they'll be a bit more useful.

Sounds good, I'll go those a try. I didn't realize the collision mesh was that much bigger than the part, if your right. I assumed it would be at least close to the visual dimensions.

I assumed it would be at least close to the visual dimensions.

That's your first error. =P RA2 locks physics in a room and then farts in it. A T Connector, for instance, has a collision mesh floating out in space somewhere. You need to get some experience with the Havok engine and how it calculates damage, how it makes a bunch of stuff work. Once you get to know the mechanics, you can exploit them to the best of your abilities, and make some pretty killer machines.

Yup, you were right about about those HPZ's. I've noticed a pretty large speed increase over my last bot. And widening my weapon rack my damage somehow doubled.

Yeah, your front wheels are coming into play now the weapon motors are horizontal. =) And because your weapons were concentrated near the same place, the weapons on one motor were obstructing the weapons on another motor. By spreading them out, none of them obscure any of the others, so they can all come into play much more effectively now.

Sounds like a reasonable explanation to me :P. Now to copy it into one of my Starcore games and see if it is actually good or if it is just good against the stock bots... probably not going to be too fun lol

Well, I have to say it is pretty good. Not the best, but I managed to KO all the HW bots on Starcore V2 in my first or second try. I think it's time for a new bot... I have an idea for a DSL SHW bot though, so I'm going to build that first.
