Gigafrost's Showcase
« on: August 11, 2008, 03:38:22 PM »
It's been a while since I was able to create a showcase, and I'm probably one of the only ones who hasn't recently made one, so here it goes.

I'm starting out with a MW Vertical Spinner: Duo-Damage

weight: 393.4

Duo-Damage uses  2  HP-Zteks, hence the name. It has 6 razors mounted on tribars, as well as a srimech and snowplow. The "slow motors" are angled in a way to kind of move it out of the way of  rammers, if attacked from behind.

It uses 1 black batt and one purple(added simply for extra weight). It uses DSA Armor as well.

I will post more once I get a chance.

I'm starting out with a MW Vertical Spinner:

Nice horizontal type Vertical Spinner (yep, leave it to me to be a smartass)
Wheels like that get the same traction as straight up and down so I am surprised we don't see more like it.

I like it, but I'm not so sure about that ramplate on top.

For once the mods did something right

Yeah, the ramplate is supposed to serve as a little srimech in case it is ever flipped.

This is my next LW VS

This is also another pic of the insides. In case it is hard to see

As you can see, it is wider at the top than the bottom. This was to simply fit in the black batt, and of course, give it a more unique look. As I previously forgot to mention, the robot used a snowplow and also has tilted wheels.

Long time since I posted anything in here... Played around with DSL a bit and came up with SuPeR-cYcLe

Perhaps one of my first effective flailing-Sit&Spin MWs. It features:

-A unique semi-strafe drive system
-Titanium armor
-Two flailing weapons which consist of 6 weapons on each "arm"
-Invertability
-1 Orange batt and a "backup" tiny batt

Sorry no splashy for the moment.

You sure do like horizontal VS, eh?

I've never seen such a random MW since several months. And it does looks cool !

Although there is still empty space, and the dual sided small teeth won't do any damage here.

They look great IMO but are these wheels efficient grip-wise?

Not sure... But I did! Meet H.V.S...

It is a little unstable however and it takes some time to get the enemy to the VS weapon. But the good thing about it is that it does some pretty good damage. I think it has 3mm aluminum armor, but it has a spike clubs, boxing gloves, and iron spikes for blade heads on DSL Bars, dual wedge plating, rear slide-caster armor, and 8 red batts (if i am not mistaken). More than enough to feed the perm and mag motors, which fit quite nicely in the chassis IMO.

Super cycle looks unstable, like it would log-roll on any good hit.  I can't help but think it would be better with static weapons, or else if the weapons flailed on the x-z axis and not the y axis.  Otherwise it looks good.

HVS could use different weapons.  With a VS, it's better to have a few heavy weapons than lots of light ones, because as soon as you lose ONE weapon, it will become unbalanced and its effectiveness will drop several orders of magnitude.  With two nice big hammers, the weapon would be much sturdier than with all those little spikes.

But aside from that and the blatant violation of the realistic rule, that looks like a good bot.  Reminds me of a DSL version of my Swiss Army Bot IV.

Also, if you plan to continue posting DSL bots, you should start a DSL showcase.

Oops forgot about the DSL showcase. Ok can do. And thanks for the tips. I will upgrade both and show them in a DSL showcase.

But as for stock, this is one of my beloved oldies (sort of) A powerful VS: The Succesor. One of my future bots for LU.

DSA Armor, 2 redbirds (to support bracket wedges), 2 HP zTeks for rear drive, Doubled razors on two HPs. Side plows also provide some sort of protection from motor hungry face spinners. Snuggly placed 3 blacks and 3 purples to give more than enough juice for the 6 motors. Shiny hubs for wheels; I wanted to put the smaller grey ones but the bracket wedges protested otherwise.

try turning the razors so they both hit at the same time. more effective.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.

I remember the Horizontal Vertical spinner that Click made, the one where the blade rotates sideways.

Yes, you should rotate the Extenders and Razors to incease damage.

Not symmetric!!!

Your bot will get major problems with that unbalanced body.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.
