Here's the latest iteration:

(Image removed from quote.)

DSA, 4WD, 2 Blacks, 6 Razors per DDT

I've had a number of ideas for changes, but I'd like to see what you all think I could do first. I don't want to have to make too many more versions of this guy. Here's my thoughts:

  • Shrink chassis round blacks to airtight.
  • Make wedge slightly steeper so middle ramplate can be level with others but HPZ's don't stick out of chassis at front.
  • Angle the blades less to reduce risk of being outflanked under them.
  • Use 80cm blades.
  • Lose the 2 casters at the sides
  • Add 1 caster at front under middle ramplate.
  • With remaining weight, either add more wedge protection or some armour on a BA above the other ramplates.

Any differing ideas?
IMHO you don't need the spike strip(just makes your wedge worse)

Are you kidding me?
well with the caster and blade protecting the wedge extender i don't think he needs the spike strip (the spike strips only protect a tiny part of the wedge extender)

Does it matter if your wedge breaks?  I mean, you only need the small wedge against another wedge bot, which the spike strip doesn't help against.  Against a non wedge bot such as HS, you can get under with just the chassis slope alone, so it doesn't matter if they break the wedge.

I agree with losing the two casters on the sides (GK's notes)  Those are really useless with the current config.

Excellent bot though.  I am jealous of your skill.

Thanks guys, that was a useful idea.

DSA, 2 Blacks, 4WD, 6 Razors per DDT. Wedges alright. :/

Hoping I'm getting towards the last few iterations of the bot now. Wish I could do someting more useful with the last 14kg - currently BA/extender ballast. Don't want any more weight on the wedges.

Looking spectacular now. I can't really think of any ways to improve it, except to perhaps eke a second ramplate up alongside the other one. Though I'm not sure how you could do that if you've only got 14kg. Shortening the blades will only get you up to 22kg, if I'm right about them being 80cm.

I ended up taking off the blades completely. The extenders don't get hit by HS, it seems from testing.

Wedges still need adjusting. 20kg of ballast in front atm.

yep, thats it

the ballast still irks me a bit but other that you get a :thumbup from me
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Well, it's working. Without adjusting the wedges it slides under any wedge not on a godly level (Like Windmill, Grade 4 Whiplash, Circle of Flaming Irons, that kind of level).

I've never seen a chassis wedged popup that has 7 ramplates before.
Good Job ;)

Sticking with the HW Popup theme, I've gone for compactness to the level of ridiculousness.

4 ramplates. Dunno how good the wedges are, it can defeat HS.

I can't be arsed to boot up stock and check the weight difference... but wouldn't a upside down red dual arm thingy do better than the spike strip.  (lawl... i can't even remember what they are called)

Snapper 2 is the bomb.  Don't know why everyone uses DDT.

You probably only need 3 razor per snapper 2 though.

Damn I love multi-quote.

You probably only need 3 razor per snapper 2 though.

I'd probably get away with that, but I fell the weight is better used on razors really.

Bracket wedge? It's 16 kg (compared to 14kg) and larger, plus the spike strip does damage.

Damn you GK, you make me want to build a bot. How dare you! :D

My pleasure.

Reading the BBEANS 5 showcase, saw inf posting Severe, and got inspired to make this:

6WD, 4 S2's, 3 razors per S2 (12 in total), 3 blacks. what do you all think?

The extenders that hold the drive look pretty exposed though.

Looks quite interesting. I imagine it'll be tough for it to beat more durable opponents with only six razors, but it's certainly a great design. With the SnapperII's oriented like that, though, is it stable enough, or do the motors/weapons flex too much?

They are significantly far back, all I can do really.

12 razors mate... :P

Seems alright so far, stability wise.
