ok, i read carefully through 10 pages and decided i was bored, do i have to read farther to find what your talkin about? only similarity i can see at the moment is that we both understand how to use snappers to stack.... and one other similarity but alas you wouldnt know it since i havent displayed it yet... ill give you a hint, i love wedge bots ^^i thought to post my favorite one right now but i was thinkin to enter it in BOTM for the lol's(doubtful id win though) mine is only vaguely similar to his though, but its a wedge, i mean, how different can they be? well... im rambling lol, so perhaps i missed what u meant please explain further or post a more specific page, 25+ pages is more than i feel like "skimming" through at 3 am lol

Erm, yes, I imagine he'll have just been trying to complement you as redace got very good at stock, very quickly.
But, no, you're far from his level at the moment.
Still, you've got some of the basics down well so far, not bad for first couple of bots, just listen to advice given and you'll carry on improving easily.

and alas im done with him unless i get some great advice(i feel he is a lost cause tho) there isnt much i can do to make him better withiout starting all over.....

and as for me being like redace there is a HUGE difference between us... he got all his designs from you guys, i came up with mine before i knew you guys existed ^^

Chassis is way too big, also, you only need 2 snappers for all those motors. (the blue snappers). Get rid of the 4 wheel drive and mount hpz outside the chassis.

well this one atm is my favorite, wasnt gonna post it, but i need advice lol..... every time i give it a second wedge(even at same height and angle) i lose the ability to go under anything

but i cant just have the 1 flipper because when i AI him some of the bots with far spaces little wedges go around mine and mine slides into a hole of nothingness >_< now when i drive it myself i have beaten(easily i might add for most) all but 2 opponents(SHW-Alligator - not a very fair match in the first place, and neglected waterbug i think is its name - for some reason i cannot get under it even though its wedges are crap lol) i have the Starcore v3 the BBEANS and Sovereign i think(which was kinda too easy) AI packs so he has been battle tested.... AI cant drive him right though so i need a second wedge(or to get an AI that intentionally hits at an angle instead of straight ^^)

either or here he is:
Hell Bent -
2 stacked supervolts
2 nifty's
a multitude of pink batts(10 i think)
~3400 input total
2 HP Z-tek drives with rubber wheels EDIT: there shiny hub wheels my bad
5 DDT's
2 snapper2's
3600 total output if im driving and using wep/ 2800 while sitting and wep(max power for best weapons)/ 800 while driving
12 razors
emergency flipper(hate the looks but best wedge according to all my tests)
and cant forgot my favorite part xD Starfighter chassis design lol(look close and youll understand)

and for the record he is one mean bot.... i get alot of 1hit ko's... more 2 hits but still enough of em to mention it...... oh and this is rendition like 8 lol if anyone cares to see em i got the first - third models still u can see alot changin very quickly lol this was like my third project to start ^^

That's some funky stuff you got there.

Can't really give you much effective advice if you want to retain its aesthetics, but replace all those nifties and pinks with 2 blacks and it's fine for now. :D

i tried to slide blacks in there

sadly they wouldnt fit, besides if i swapped all of em for blacks i would actually lose output power(only 200 but im already 200 short) since i have an immensly hard time stacking blacks >_<

and the chassis isnt just aesthetic ^^ the V in the front funnels bots easier so once there climbing they cant slide off and the rear deflects alot of attacks xD

Actually, you can make do with having a simple sloped rear if you want to deflect flanked attacks (though sloping sides is more logical than sloping the rear), so that funky stuff (that eats a lot of weight) at the rear's more into aesthetics than into performance.

As for the battery power, popups aren't meant for endurance anyway. It's not like the matches will last more than 2 minutes. :P

So yeah, I'll leave the more generic advice to others. XD

Nice! Just so you know, Neglected Waterbug has the best wedges in Starcore 3, so don't feel bad if you can't get under it. Also, you don't need the pinks. Awesome look though

ya know its kinda funny like that.... i get under the wedges just fine lol but its like his chassis is 5k kilotons of weight o.O even pushing against a wall he just wont budge any farther than the back of the wedge bars lol and if i hit him from behind or a tire/side i just glance harmlessly away?? anyhoo..... and i do need all them pinks.... i hit roughly 2.5k dmg per swat like this and without em(removed for side armor) i barely can hit 1k and my DDT's dont snap down fast enough(or hard enough to apply pressure on my wedge) im not sure if u noticed but there is 10 pinks there not just 4 i actually get 1/3 of my power from em lol

It might be to do with the angle of your front wedge being so steep. PitA 8 had a similar problem in BBEANS 5, IIRC. Popups are quite highly dependent on their drivetrain, though, so you might want to get 4WD on there somehow, and also to have perhaps two wedges spaced apart a bit, to make it easier to get underneath the opponent.

sadly my bot is slow and ill admit it

although if i lose my wedge i can outrun some 4 wheelers, and from my expereince(as limited as it may be) in a popup vs popup match the faster one always loses(they kinda ramp right over the slow one) but like i said my experience is limited... thanks for the advice ill look into it more... and do you know where i can look at PitA8 to compare flaws?

There's a RA2Wiki page about it, but speed tends not to have much of an effect on wedginess, unless you're playing in a particularly bumpy arena. It's more about the angle and weight distribution.

well heres a bot i made purely in jest.... my friend and i were laughing about the icanhazcheeseburgers site and playing ra2 and had a ridiculous idea for a bot, this is the result lol.....

@Enoch: If you like that site, you could always try joining it for a bit.
They have a pretty good image editor.
Its somewhat low-tech, but its the good kind of low-tech.
(by that, I mean the ability to place text all over and in any possible direction)
