it is a good robot, HS's are probably the strongest all round robots in the game imo that's why they are so popular. what makes a good builder great is being innovative and original, i love checking out clicks showcase to get some new idea's i think you should take a look at his showcase sometime.. it's a shame we all had to start over again cause click had a lot more unique designs.

did you control your robot yourself in those battles? a little advice from me is learn how to ai your bots if you haven't already and test your robots that way.

bottom line: AI vs AI matches for your robots and make them a bit different from every other bot we have seen.

Lol I have no idea how to ai a bot. I got the disc version of the game about 3 days ago so I think I'm doing a pretty good job on it so far :D. And yes that's sage's skin, I just copied it on his showcase, about page 20. Hopefully he doesnt mind that I use it because it's awsome :D

New bot called Contravene. Has a protected front that makes the opponents slide up and then get poked at while having no leverage. It's the 1st version of this bot and I thought it's pretty cool so I'd just showcase it here. Some more improvments can be done but I'm too tired to do that right now. It needs to have the plow moved farther back so the weapons can hurt the opponent's chassis better. I still have another 100 kgs left over but with moving some components around, and making the piston longer for a farther reach, I might add some snow plows too, and then that may make it a bit closer to the weight limit. Contravene has great wedges so it's not uncommon to get under bots like Neglected Water Bug :D

I will redo Contravene tomorrow and showcase it.

maybe angle the weapons down a bit? can't remember the name of the robot.. but one of the ai packs (i think psyc's) has an awesome hw poker that has its pointing down on an angle.

Pys built something like this a while back I think (it was on the old forums, mabye it was Inf).

It's a pretty good design, but you could free up even more weight by re-making the chassis. Remember: think of each face of the polygon as a seperate armour sheet. The more there are, the more it will weigh, so try to build your chassis with as few faces as possible, but still compact enough to just fit in everything you need.

I would add another air tank (they stack, by the way) and definately some more weapons, if not another piston as well.

Definitely a big air tank, and another piston.

"Insectoid" yeah thats the one.

you could also put 1 more piston on each side and angle them in...i think. maybe some side protection also?

I know but I was just trying to kill some weight. It wont be there this time unless I still have more weight after doing everything else.

There's a difference between killing weight and making useless attachments, most don't know the diff.

LW HS called Rust-E, 9 maces. It's a HS/SnS hybrid. It took forever to stack that CB into the nifty (until I widened the space for the battery T_T). It's 2 main weaknesses are that It is very weak while inverted (the chassis flails wildly), and that the armour is plastic (rarely ever gets ko'ed right side up though). If it can stay On it's wheels, then it will do very good :approve:

nice
I have had no success stacking the cb into a battery.those angled parts of the chassis might be able to be flat to preserve a small amount of weight.

Are you serious? Pretty sure I'm the ONLY one ever to build something like this (actually exactly this) other than Pysc who just tried to better me.

but anyway to my point, I'm just laughing because that is a BLATANT CLONE of my robozone entry which JUST STARTED and one of my SIGNATURE robots. you have some real balls to clone man, you dont do it well either.

STOP.

What are you talking about? The back is to fit the battery, and of course the weapon in the middle, and wheels on the side. I'm not a fan of cloning.

Ever thought it looked bad as a clone because it's not even meant to be one?

It's not like there's a whole lot of chassis design freedom when you shove a HP-Ztek, drive system and 9 weapon heads onto a LW.
