This was not what I was expecting to come home to tonight.

I was expecting to clean up a little bit from a separate issue that I haven't even had time to check on yet. Instead, I've been sitting here for probably an hour and a half taking notes, both physically and mentally, in regards to the following thread:

https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,6817.0.html

Let me just start of by saying that this is a prime example of why we do not allow "I'm Leaving" threads in this community. I'm really appalled at what went on in this thread. I know this was playground, which is supposed to not be moderated. As such I am not looking at foul language or anything like that. I swear like a sailor on those parts of the forum too. But the big issue at hand here is something we've been battling for a long time. But TX isn't the only one at fault here. Fueling the fire in big flame wars such as this is something that we cannot condone, and something that I do not take lightly, regardless of what section of this website is is under. In this case, this was going to spill over into the other parts of the forum. But anyways, let's get to it...

Here's what I did in this case. This thread was so big, I took the liberty of going through it and tallying posts. Every single post that was made in there I have an idea of. A blue tally represents a post that was of little to no negative impact on the fight as a whole. A red tally indicates a post that added to the fight and helped to keep it going. First posts in the thread were given the liberty of being marked as benign, consider that a gift to you from me. Posts that were not counted include my two posts as well as any post that was deleted (Yes, I can see posts that you delete. Keep that in mind from now before you hit the post button.) on Here's the chart:

As you can see, some were much worse than others. Anybody with more than three or four posts in there should be ashamed of themselves, especially if the tallies are red.

That concludes part one. Part two will be posted in a little bit, in which I will discuss each individual person who made an impact as well as punishments that are given.

Alright, onto part two. I'll discuss the big players in this.

TX - Started the thread claiming he was leaving, then continued to stick around. Claimed he was going outside and didn't care, and then continued posting. Later admitted to the whole thread being trollbait. Obviously this thread was a sham, but he got his wish as he will not be seen around these parts for 60 days.

Garvin - I'll just paste what I put in his warning: "You have been given 75% warn for your actions in TX's "I'm leaving" thread. I have found your posts and personality in this community and your overall attitude towards others to be abrasive and arrogant, which are not things that are even close to acceptable from any member, nevermind someone as new as yourself. I suggest you take a step back for a while and reconsider the way you do things around here. Consider yourself lucky that I'm not forcing you to have that time off, as I could have just as easily banned you for a very long time for the way you have been acting."

I'd put him set to 80%, but that would mean that mods have to approve every single one of his posts and I do not feel like sifting through them all. If he acts up again he will be getting some serious time off.

Sparkey - Admitted himself in this thread that he was one of the main influences in that thread. He had one of the highest post counts in that thread, and most of it was trolling. He's taking a week off.

GF - He was one of the bigger negative influences in this thread, and most of his neutral posts were borderline... His overall post count was lower though, so he's only banned for two days.

Fotepx: Banned for two days. Yes, he was a big influence in making this fight happen, but he realized it towards the end and admitted to his mistakes. He then had a heel-face turn and instead tried to bring the thread to an end. He later took the liberty of being the only person to contact me directly in regards to this thread. For that, I have gone easy on him and only given him 2 days. I could have done more considering how much trolling he did, but I feel this is appropriate since he knows and corrected it.

Alright, if anybody has any questions or comments feel free to issue them. This thread is open for a reason, and nothing I have done here is set in stone. If you feel like any of this is unfair, feel free to tell me why.

As we can all see, I think out of all the moderators here, Kill is the most dedicated when it comes to organizing and cleaning out the crap here. Granted the others are much more busy with tournaments, AI packs, and Roboteering; Kill gives us the model that EVERY one of us should strive for. Not a tournament host, or a giant project leader, just a citizen going out of his way for the good of the forum. That is what we need, we already have more than 7 current tournaments going on, we don't need more. We already have more than 4 great AI Packs (DSL, NARAI, Backlash, and  Starcore, many other's as well) unless we recognize you for your building skill, we don't need more, NarAI eliminates that so you can at least see your robots in something that people will see. We don't all need to be overachievers, or famous, or even attention whores like some of you are. Look at me for an example. I don't care about my wiki page cause I know I don't really have much to showcase (Also cause I'm lazy to edit it) I bow to Kill for his effort an he should all become your Role model from now on.

I will admit I am unsure about the GF ban... Considering reducing it to one day. Further thoughts?

Going by your stats and from what I know of him.. just give he 24 hours to cool off.

He tends to take this kinda of stuff (bans, warnings , etc) a little more seriously then others..

Honestly though, we don't just want him to cool off. His attitude often brings unnecessary drama to these forums, though he is not as bad as some others. All the trouble makers need a punishment that will change the way they act.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

There was a ridiculously high amount of flaming in that thread. One of the highest I've ever seen on GTM.

Your address is visible on that photo.  I don't know if you care, but I'd want someone to alert me about that sort of thing (I was raised to be paranoid about internet creepers)

That could just be the address of where he bought the notebook.

Thats a good point.. he tends to chime in though not instigate problems himself (aside from Conraaa's Tourney)

Just my opinions though.. I dont read the chatterbox/ failground very much..

Yeah, it looks like notepaper from a business. It's not his personal address.

Also, I find these flamewars and Kill's inevitable moderation of them highly entertaining. I feel kinda sorry for Kill though.
