In the process of reducing the server load, I also made the forum slightly faster. The accumulation of all my changes may even be noticeable for some of you. That is to say, I already know the server load is excessively high and what you were doing doesn't really matter much for them. I'll continue to work on it, though.
I did notice, however, that switching to the low-bandwidth version made a huge difference in the number of 503 errors being handed out.
