Title: The forum got updated
Post by: Trovaner on March 13, 2013, 06:50:53 PM
I finally finished updating the forum software and it seems to have fixed the login issue.

That said, not all the extensions have been reinstalled yet (due to compatibility) so it may take awhile before it is completely working again...

Great work, Trov! When I noticed my name colour being brown, I was like "Omg, what title did I get?"

But since I didn't have any fancy titles I realised that it's update. Keep up the great work! :approve:

Thanks for the work, hopefully there's an increase in forum activity now :)

I think everyone has the same name colour (for now) Jonzu.

I know, Ian.

And this is why they are the same.

the rep pages are gone too

The rep pages are part of an extension so I was aware of it but the missing tabs are an easy fix so I'll take care of that today.

Edit: The tabs are fixed now.

longbar is still long.

If you're working on this now, I apologize.

If by longbar you mean Quick-Reply box then I am currently working on it.

Yes, I do XD

Also GTM's getting 500 Server Errors occasionally, but a quick refresh fixes it. A minor nuisance at most but it is annoying.

I don't, It bothers me.

Lol why are you guys using that when you can just use the GTM host on the front page: https://gametechmods.com/Uploaders/indexih.php (https://gametechmods.com/Uploaders/indexih.php)
So yeah, can you change the "Add image to post" thing in the reply box so it goes to the GTM host instead of this postimage thing.

I had it modded to use GTM uploader, I am busy right now, but may be able to fix it tonight.

Right now, the most important thing is fixing the spoiler tags IMO. I'll try to get those fixed when I have time. After that, I can look into the rep pages.

If ACAMS has time, I would appreciate it if he could get the image posting button to work but if not I'll take a look when I get the chance.

OK, I will fix that when I get time, and I will fix the Marquee too ...... BUT

There are lots of other things you will need to fix.

I can't get Current theme to load in admin panel and I can't make the titles hide (found in Current Themes)

You need to go over to SMF and make friends .... I chew their ass too much and the most knowledgeable guys are pissssed at me.
I started a topic for you here .... go jump in.

I fixed the Current Theme page (admin only), the titles being shown twice, and the spoiler (same extension as before but not edited yet).

I'll look into the other extensions now (namely the username colors and rep pages).

What do you guys want me to fix next?

Would love to have the annoying double spaces between paragraphs vanish, every time I make a post with more then one paragraph I find myself going back to edit it just to get rid of the 1 extra blank line.

The image uploader just closes every time during the upload. And I hate to use other image share websites because I'm used to use GTM Image uploader, which simply is the best.

Is there anything left to fix?

No worries, I've actually had more than one since starting this but *reads Naryar's post* not at once...

There is actually quite a few extensions that need to be reinstalled before I am completely done. I'm just trying to gauge which ones are not important enough to reinstall.

Spoilers, please. I can't post series of images without it looking annoying.
Already done. I fixed them on Monday and made a post about them already in this thread.

Also, before I forget, I'll mention that I added a new tag:
[countdown=MONTH,DAY,YEAR,HOUR,MINUTE]Message shown when countdown expires[/countdown]
I used it in my signature and on the tournament rules page.

Would love to have the annoying double spaces between paragraphs vanish, every time I make a post with more then one paragraph I find myself going back to edit it just to get rid of the 1 extra blank line.
Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately, it is a problem that wasn't fixed by the update. That means that I'll have to do some heavy digging after doing the updates to figure out what is causing it.

The image uploader just closes every time during the upload. And I hate to use other image share websites because I'm used to use GTM Image uploader, which simply is the best.
Last I checked, the image uploader was working but I'll look into it. I'm assuming that you are referring to this image uploader (https://gametechmods.com/Uploaders/indexih.php). If not, let me know ASAP.

Are there any other things that are bothering people in regards to the forum software?

That's a nice new tag you introduced there, good job.
Title: Re: The forum got updated
Post by: ianh05 on March 20, 2013, 04:52:00 PM
Nice new tag, might use it in my contests in the future. The only other thing I noticed was the post last edit feature is missing so if someone edits a post no one will have any evidence of it, that's probably something that needs fixing before it causes a stir.

Trov Edit: I'm pretty sure it works...

^^^ It seems to be working just fine for me. IIRC, there is some sort of grace period in which it won't say that it got edited but its been there since we first started using SMF.

Edit: Except when you edit your own...

Add image to post? where the heck is that button? I can't see it anywhere... just go here:

then copy the link into your post.

How can you assume that? I don't do it like that because it's more hassle.

Either way, it would be nice if it were fixed.

We need that plugin that makes it so images don't show up in quote until you click the link again too.

Nice catch. I'll try to figure out what ACAMS did for that one. It isn't listed as one of the old extensions so he either installed it manually or coded it himself.

Edit: I think the edit issue is fixed now.

You may have to close out of all your tabs and clear your cache to see the changes if you aren't already seeing them.

If that doesn't work, what internet browser (including version number) are you using?
