Sounds like another member which disappeared after the very first posts...

Although you do have a point, so maybe ACAMS should do cleanup less often, say once a month.

Sounds like a very decent idea, although some may briefly spam the main boards before being granted automatic access. If I were them, they really should post in the semi junkyard zones (Games, Movies and Music etc).

Something that's occured to me recently, what with how often accounts with 0 posts get deleted when ACAMS cleans up the servers to get rid of bots and such.

In the chatbox two days ago, a new member called Dark Side posted a few times about SHW/UHW bots and a DSL install problem, but his profile still says he has 0 posts, which means he'll get deleted when the bot sweep comes around. Marty informed him that he needs to post in the main forum or his account will be deleted, but he doesn't appear to have done that so far. I know that's just one member, but it strikes me how many other members we may have lost in a similar fashion.

I'm wondering setting a minimum posting amount, e.g. 10 posts in the main forum, before the chatbox becomes available on the front page will help prevent potential new members being lost in that fashion, as they'd have to post in the forum to get their problems solved to begin with, or just say hecko and such. It'll also give other members more of a chance to get them up to speed on the ins and outs of being a member here, as not everyone c the chatbox terribly often, if at all.

Not sure how it would be implemented, I'm not very up on the inner workings of a forum like this one, but I'm just wondering if it might work. =)
