Title: New forum look

Unless there is strong objection, I will swap over to Simple Machine Forum software tomorrow night.
No posts, or post count will be lost, or I will not use it untill it works properly.
I have completely reworked the front page and all the other pages to match the forum look......which is very close to this.
I have noticed there is somebody on the forums 24-7.....so JoeBo, Naryar and you other night owls be ready to get kicked off tomorrow about 1-2 AM central time.
The new forum will have tabs to take you quickly to other sections of the forum....like the downloads section, the wiki, and tutorials, and they will be on all the other pages except the WIKI......untill I figure out how to do that too!
 
 
NOTE to goose: I PROMISE not to bother you with this...I got it under control :tongue:

im all for the swap over, Simple Machine Forum was just as good as this Vbulletin one if not better

and I get a Moderator title in the tournament section hehe

Actually I made some Robot Arena themed post icons for the new forum. (but they suck)........SO, I plan on posting all the current icons and have members make new ones and if we have bunches, we will make a contest of it.
 
Just to let you all know.....the smileys in your post will not work, untill I fix them so don't squall for at lease a week.
 
Still have not seen goose for his approval/disapproval....oh well.

OK......here it is, but there is A LOT of work to fix it right.

The old polls are messed up, and I hope to have it fixed soon.

You may  have to mark all posts as read for it to look and work right.

Whiles others might disagree with me, is it possible to use darker (less saturated) colors for the topics and links?  It's really difficult to see orange and bright blue on top of sky blue/grey backgrounds.

Edit:  NM I got around it by using stylish to change all links to black

how did you get to that page ?
Open up the info center at the bottom of the main page... then click on the "More Stats" section.

Yeah the only thing i found is "view most recent posts in the forum" 

but nothing like the old board that listed it in a nice forum layout way.

Glad to see I am not the only one that misses that feature.

Edit: oh.. and the sigs are broken because the linking system is different I think... you have to list it as an IMG link as if you were going to post it in a message.  Takes just a min to fix.

I would also like to point out that the Search feature here is waaaaaaaay better than vbulletin.

It is like night and day awesome vs suck.

Might help cut down on useless posts, the old search engine was terrible.

Sigs over 300 letters got messed up after the 300, but I moved it out larger.
As for the recent posts, I can make it show a list on bottom, but heck it is so easy to see them.....just look for the big yellow Firestorm, or the (https://gametechmods.com/forums/Themes/default/images/english/new.gif) image!


If you guy's insist on taking up space with recent posts I will add it to the info center.

I'm just downright confused. I mean, It looks nice, but I honestly don't like the button layout, and how White text and quotes can't be used anymore. I also hate the new security features.
 
Other than that, it looks nice, though. Also, could I please not be notified by e-mail whenever somebody replies to me?

No, I kept it, but you can only look at it fully by scrolling left and right. The whole point of it was to brighten up my sig without being complicated to use.

Oh well. Hopefully that'll be fixed, soon.

You must have been in your profile panel and checked to be notified.....go uncheck it.

Your sig can only be 600 wide.....I hope that your screen is AT LEAST 800 wide (ok, if it is ONLY 800x600 it may break....you need a new monitor AND video card)

I can't change the settings for one or two people with equipment that came over on the Mayflower!

It is there, see that tiny very dim arrow at the very top right corner of the forums? Click on that and it will expand to show some hidden stuff including Show unread posts since last visit.

Some users need to upload .bmp and .gif.......it is idiots that link big, huge ones on the forum that are at fault, and they will find a way to do it anyway.

If you have adblock plus and you really can't stand white dots moving across the screen while reading, you can block the snow by adding this to your blocklist
