ACAMS, Click, Trovaner, Kill343gs, Joeblo, Naryar, Pwnator, does that mean at least 3 of them has to be a NOOB? But also +1 for some nice trig, or binomial. Posted by: Natef« on: February 24, 2011, 02:40:06 PM »+1 as well.

A "n00b filter" can be bypassed by a somehow cunning member. +1 for the banhammer. Despite many 12 years old here, only a few really stands out as having destructive behaviors. It's easier just to to use the ban hammer on them. And surely you guys can't expect me to remember how to do Trigonometry. Age limit - People can lie very easily. Claim they're 13 or something like that, and just like that the system fails. Besides, what you call noob proofing I call a destructive tendency. It is incredibly prejudiced to assume that every new person who is under a certain age is a noob, just as it's prejudiced to assume that someone who knows nothing of RA2 is going to be a headache for all of us. Isn't that what this forum is for, to learn? If we implemented any sort of noob proofing measure, ESPECIALLY the ones mentioned in this thread, who knows what kind of future we might be destroying. I know for a fact that I was 12 when I signed up, and I knew nothing about RA2 that's worth mentioning. I've had to say this a million times now, but we were ALL noobs once, even if it wasn't here on GTM. We will not be closing off registration to anybody. Posted by: Clickbeetle« on: February 23, 2011, 08:37:53 PM »Go ahead and shoot me down because it is a hairbrained idea Hmm... OK. 1. It won't noob-proof the forum, it will only raise the minimum IQ/education level of its members (and behavior =/= intelligence) 2. Do you REALLY want to be forced to solve a high-level math problem every time you log in? 3. Yeah, I thought not. 4. A simple minimum age for registration would work better (but still has issues, notably that a lot of members on here now are already under 13 and what do we do about them?)
