The user accounts between the forum and wiki are now bridged so everyone with an account on the forum should now have access to the wiki.
There are still a few issues that I need to work out such as being able to logout from the wiki but it is mostly working now. If you run into any error messages, please let me know so that I can address them.

Did this pop up as soon as you tried to visit the wiki or did you click something? It doesn't look like your account is getting created so I'm assuming that it is the former. We are already at 10 user accounts successfully created so there has to be something unique about your account...

Ok: Clicked RA2 Wiki, then clicked log in. Redirected me to standard GTM log in. Logged in with this account and pass. Redirects to RA2 wiki (i presume) and get the error.
-
wohoo, nice that there's no longer a need for double accounts and I do hope that people won't abuse this system.

Alright, I made a change. Did it fix anything for you?

Got this session error at the top of the page now:
Warning: session_name(): session.name cannot be a numeric or empty '' in /home/gametechmods/wiki.gametechmods.com/extensions/Auth_SMF.php on line 333
Shortly before that happened my router glitched out(possibly the dhcp/dns service crashing) had to reboot it and I guess the wiki/forum sessions are now still active/not synced/messed up in some way that confuses the wiki.
-
I'm getting the same error:
"Warning: session_name(): session.name cannot be a numeric or empty '' in /home/gametechmods/wiki.gametechmods.com/extensions/Auth_SMF.php on line 333"
Also, it's showing an IP address in place of my username.

My fix for Avalanche broke it for everybody else but it should be better now.
-
Yep, seems to be working fine now. Thanks Trov :)
-
Working just fine now, thought my internet crash caused a problem on my end but looks like it broke for everyone.
-
nice work trov
-
Wasn't there a reason this wasn't the case in the first place? Like, anyone with a GTM account could sully the wiki page. Is this no longer a fear?
-
It was something to do with bots attempting to enter the wiki to place advertisements if I recall.
-
so how do we protect the wiki in case someone vandalizes it andrew-style ? does a mute/ban immediately removes access to the wiki ?

Nope, Not fixed.

The site-wide account transition appears to work for me, no problem.
However it defaults to the mobile UI, even though I'm on a laptop, and there is nothing to change it in preferences.
And the mobile UI is awful and makes the wiki utterly unusable. Only way I've found to escape it is selecting the other UI in the bottom of pages, and even then it comes back to that damn mobile UI whenever I change pages.
-
For the record, I get neither Nary's nor Avalanche's problems. It seems to work perfectly fine for me.
-
How to I make a profile wiki??

Same, guessing something's broken with the user account and that the mobile detection adds odd for some reason, you aren't using a windows with tablet mode enabled, right?
-
Sweet! We can now make pointless user pages! Woot! as well as some other, more important stuff. yay.
Good job, trov.
-
I Gonna make myself a user page
-
User pages are meant for users that contribute in a meaningful way to RA2. (AI-ing, modding, tournaments, AI packs, etc.) Or the really old people/people who have marked GTM for a while.

If you think you've contributed in a serious, meaningful way to the development of RA2...

...I guess... there's nothing stopping you...?
I think Naryar's saying that they're not suited for regular members; they have to have done something considerably noteworthy to warrant an userpage.
I'm assuming minor contributions don't mean anything either (like how I fixed up a few of the AI robots in the RWRA2 mod) so I don't think your Robot Noob mod would be enough either.

lol

If I have a page, you can have a page.
-
That is why I said "pointless", because that reflects just how useful they will be. I think the wiki should be more of a compendium of glitches, and components, and mods, and useful stuff.

nobody cares what you think

This is no place to flame other users thanks MNB, quit it.
-
OK
-
... is there harm in someone making a page for themselves? although I agree that general rule of thumb is someone else will make a page for you if you should have one

I'm not saying there's any harm, I'm saying that it's just a little bit pointless.
