Comprehensive List of GTM's Rules

As many of you have probably heard, the staff has been working on writing down a complete list of rules. Our goal was to have it all in one place for both old and new members to use as a reference.

The new rules will take effect immediately but, to give people time to adjust, the staff will be a little more lenient on the newer rules (for about a week). Please take this time to skim through all the rules so that you aren't taken by surprise.

You should see a link in the navigation bar and soon the registration page but here is a link to the rules page just in case.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss improvements and/or give your opinion.

imo the excessive spamming rule shouldn't apply to playground since that's pretty much all playground is.

You might as well just remove playground entirely when you ban spam from the spam section.

Plus nobody would be able to say "OMG THE PLAYGROUND TROLLS ARE RUINING GTM QQ".

Posting stupid sh** inside a thread in Playground is fine... hell if you do three pointless threads in playground no one's gonna bother you... it's just that making an overly large amount of pointless threads in a row in playground is now illegal.

In part, yes. But there has been episodes of mass spamming in playground sometimes and we are seeking to curb down that.

Excessive spamming in one thread is illegal, though less punished that making 102 threads in a row. Though if you want specifics, ask trov.

The chatterbox is for unmoderated conversation. The playground is for complete nonsense.

The only difference now is you can't spam loads of threads at once, make loads of threads at once, or spam a lot in one thread.

Valid Reason — Things like “’cuz he’s cool” or "'cuz he's not cool" are not valid reasons for changing someone’s reputation. If you want to change someone's rep than please say what they did to earn their "cool" or "uncool" status. The logs will be scanned on a regular basis to ensure that people are providing valid reasons for changing someone else's rep. It’s all fun and games until an administrator sees it and decides to take away your rep powers.

When Trov did some experimenting with it about a month or two ago, he deleted it but apparently some people secretly did care about rep.

Because without spamming it's no different than chatterbox. Spamming was the only thing separating the two sections.

playzooki stop being so dense. NO ONE wants to come on this sh** when 09 or ha posted 100 threads about nothing and you have to sort through them to get to actual content. When that happens I dont even bother reading, I just wait for them to get muted and the threads to be deleted before i even try.

SO in order to stop said bullsh**, it is no longer allowed. Comprende? or are you really stupid enough to wanna keep arguing as if this is a tyranical regime forcing you to take it hourly because "muh freedoms to be a dumb"
