Title: Avatar problems.
Post by: Stagfish on January 07, 2011, 03:52:27 PM
Whenever I upload a avatar it changes to a JPEG file and craps up the quality while other peoples avatars are fine? And I dont think its a size problem, The avatars i've tried uploading are normally quite small.

Erm... Try saving them as  high quality JPG to begin with  using a half decent program like GIMP,

it only changes them if you try to use BMP images

use a correct forum friendly one and you will be fine...

No, it does it with PNGs too. Believe me.

What you do is upload it to another site and copy the link and use that. Except it won't show on the RA2 wiki, but bleh.

I have to bump this.

Why this problem is still not solved? And even I try the Gimp thing, it still screws up the quality.

As long as someone looking at the avatar can see what it is, it's fine.

Guys, its simple.
Save your avatar as either a .png or a high quality Jpeg(if you have something like photoshop), upload it via GTM's image host, then use the url for your avatar.

Problem -> Solved.

Thanks J, Only minus is that it doesn't show on the wiki though.

Although the URL's length doesn't matter, the URL just needs to point to the image.
