If you have any better ideas, post 'em. Besides, for the fourth or so time, this is just a trial run - if the results come back after this month that nobody cares, I'll just let regular BOTM run it's course. I don't particularly care myself, it's just a test. Maybe hosting past BOTM's, or having a good standing in the community would be the deciding factor. Gee, wouldn't re-implementing the ratings system so everyone can vote per hour make that "good standing in the community" part a lot easier? ![]() Anyway, 5 days into this, and I think the amount of entrants into each category speaks volumes about where the RA2 meta is at right now. Ironforge at 0, DSL-S at 6, DSL-IRL at 8, and Stock at 11. DSL-IRL has the largest variety of builders, however, despite not being as voluminous. I'll chalk that up to geese pretty much carrying RA2 Stock on his back, with 8 bots showcased. Yeah, we're only 3 days into this, and I already have 19 splashes saved. For now, I'm splitting it based on game (Stock/DSL-S/DSL-IRL/Ironforge/Other), but I might make more separations depending on how many I compile by the end of it. Posted by: Badnik96« on: May 02, 2018, 09:17:40 PM »if you want to make it more accessible stop giving it dumb meme themes like "the fall of byzantium" or whatever it was this month
simple mod/weightclass/bot type (optional) maybe do a tutorial on how to make a good botm splash, because ive seen a lot of great bots over the past few months that i had to pass over because their splashes looked like ass Posted by: Hoppin« on: May 02, 2018, 06:42:02 PM »Thank you for suggesting this and coming up with new ideas and trying to make the system currently in place better, I cannot thank you enough.
Firstly, whilst I understand that ideally you want to have it automated, the time and effort taken to compile all the bots that have been posted over the month must be highly difficult to maintain and keep track of. I think it would be difficult to do such a task consistantly. Secondly, realistically putting all said bots into one thread and getting people to choose just one is certainly a difficult task to achieve, I imagine it could be rather intimidating to a voter to choose outta X amount of robots. we don't believe BOTM needs to clear out all together, we just feel that we could vastly improve it to make it more encouraging and more accessable to players that would like to enter.
