Soldering iron and bolts arrived today for antweights so tomorrow I'll be building this:

With pololu motors and wheels for drive, 2mm base and top, 4mm sides and 4mm flipper arm (all hdpe), not sure on what flipper servo to go for though can you guys suggest any?

Done a lot of work on Minor Tom this weekend, Got most of the wiring done, got the paint taken off ready for a new paint job after burgess hill and got some lifter testing done:
Should hopefully get some drive testing done in the next few days.

Pneumatics are too expensive and scare me. The lifter is made for lifting power over speed as well, It's managed to lift 120kg. I'll be building a new bot for the champs soon and I'm looking into pneumatics but taking it slowly since I'd rather not hurt myself more than I already have. The lifter would actually be useful in 1 on 1 fights because it would allow control of the opponent but not so much in the majority of events where there are around 10-15 bots in the arena.

Burgess Hill was a great event, had a great time and even got to test Minor Tom fully (thanks to Haz)

Got some good advice during the two days and got some ideas on general upgrades for the champs and future events, it will be competing in october and upgrades will be done after the event. I'll also be starting a build of my own after Maidstone, probably a rammer but I'm learning about pneumatics in my free time so I will hopefully be able to safely build a pneumatic machine in the future.

Did this last night with some help from Haz:

It's going to have gimson 18v drive, doubled up banebots wheels, 5mm steel wedge ant top, 15mm hdpe sides and back with a 10mm base. It's going to be difficult keeping it to 6.6kg but it'll be something different to take the the champs.

We're not making it to win, we're making it to bring something different to fights, Conraa is making the other half.

Progress has been made, batteries are being sent, motors are ordered, going for a 10mm hdpe lid now, escs' are on the way, all I need now is a charger and I'll be good to go with the build.

Update time, the cluster is all here, I can't start building the chassis until next weekend though. I have however been repainting minor tom over the past 2 days.

The body is still drying until it's ready for another coat.

Unfortunately not, I have no money atm and it's not a cheap event to go to. the soonest I'll be able to go to a MMM is next year.
