He already has armor and cardboard won't cut it for a combat robot

I think he means put cardboard over the armour that is already on it so that other drivers don't know what they are fighting

Damn it's been a while since I updated here, I've accepted that I won't have minor tom ready for maidstone so i'm waiting until after the new year to start anew and make a pneumatic 4bar lifter, for now i'm focusing on my antweights, first off is Valefor
(credit to gaz for the name) which will be a rebuild of masochist but front hinged instead and second is an un named antweight bar spinner that will be finished after the 21st of october.
edit: The armour for Valefor will be 3mm ABS welded together with a soldering iron.

I know I need to get it running properly first and the only reason it won't be completed by then is because of money and I was actually going to ask around the fra forums for information on pneumatics before going ahead with planning, ordering parts, etc

Unregulated co2 is f***ing scary. Even if you know what you are doing.

I have a question about  my antweights batteries, how long would I need to charge a 4.8v 210mah battery on the charger at the top for it to be charged fully ?

45 Minutes at 300 mA. You'll need an electronic peak-charger at the very least.

got rid of the front hinged idea and came up with this in about an hour, 3mm ABS armour and it will have 10mm hdpe sides

Drive servos are a bit of an issue.

Anyway, it reminds me of Wheely Big Cheese.

They tend to be slow. They work, but robots that use motors and ESCs instead of constant rotation servos will run circles around them.

I know, I've done fine with a servo driven ant before and I couldn't afford esc's so these'll have to do for now.

ordered about £100 of antweight stuff and the parts I ordered are going into this:

it's going to run off 50:1 pololu motors, aluminium wedge,12a botbitz esc's, 2mm hdpe base and 4mm hdpe sides and top.
and I'm going to build a mini kronic using the same parts but with full 4mm hdpe armour and flipper arm.

Been quite a while since an update so here's what's gone on robotics wise lately:
I am buying aftershock 4 from will thomas next week, I have disc design's for antweights (Thanks to haz), the wiring on minor tom is finished, all I need now is a battery and it's good to go so soon I should have 2 feathers running.

Are you signed up for the UK champs?
Unfortunately not as I couldn't arrange transport and missed signups completely, I'll definitely be at burgess hill and the champs next year though.

Yeah, more time to get everything ready though and learn the in's and out's of the bot before I use it in a full combat event.

Got spare armour for minor tom now as my school was throwing away sheets of 4mm steel so I grabbed as many as I could (about 17 which made for a very awkward bus ride home) and they are the perfect size to cover the front and sides of minor tom. The equipment to wire minor tom is on the way as well so it should be up and running in the next week or so.
