« on: September 14, 2011, 03:05:56 PM »
Hi guys I've just started to build my first antweight and I thought I'd start a thread so any other builders can tell me if I made any fatal mistakes

if you have plannat 5 i may have to slap you ;)

with £100 you could easily have a very competitive robot for the aws's
2 or 4 50:1 ebay polu  motors, £5 each
pete waller esc (2 wheels) - £30-£50 or sabertooth 5a (4 wheels) £50
2 or 4 polu wheels, £6 a pair
7.4v lipos (120-300mah) about £3-8
lipo charger £20
any questions?

I have 1 question: would all of the components fit onto a planet 0 radio reciever or would I have to do some soldering ?

and I was going to use some of the radio equipment from my school but as soon as my teacher said ''umbilical chord'' I had to resist the urge to slap him

Receiver

Remote

Speed Controller you'll need two of them

Drive Motors once again you'll need two or more

Motor Mounts

Wheels Pick a size that fits your design

Battery (some lipo from Hobby King between 300-500mah

This stuff should help point you in the right direction and towards building a competitive 1lb antweight.

I've just ordered the servos and the 1mm polycarbonate
I was thinking of making one of these two ideas
but can anyone tell me how i would get the sharp edges on the wedge ?
