the only problem with that is that I already have an antweight with a similar design to wheeley big cheese and it would be incredibly hard for it to self right without an external attachment to the flipper

Hm.

Maybe something like Toro then. Toro flippers haven't hit any sort of stride in the UK and you could change that.

Don't 'Toro' style flippers are more mechanically efficient but they don't get as much throw compaired to a UK style flipper. Trust me, my flipper 'Phoenix' has a larger ram than Vertigo's flipper 'Explosion' but gets less height and distance its flips.

Okay, I think I'll just cut out some different styles of flipper tomorrow and attach them and see which works the best.

Ram size is only one factor affecting a flipper's power

Ram Size + Chassis Design + Amount of Expansion Room + Amount of Flow = Flipper Power

Your flipper is about 10 times less powerful than Explosion due to the lack of a buffer tank :P

On an antweight, your flipper power is atleast 80% decided by the power of the servo, so the design does not matter a huge amount
Go for whatever design you like

I got the drive sorted out today so tommorow i'll start on the body and flipper, unfortunately I can only work on it an hour a day but i've got a friend to help so it should be done either tomorrow or wednsday
edit: my cousin also came round today and decided he wants his own antweight so he's asked me to build him one for his birthday, im thinking a clusterbot rambot so him and his little sister can both use it at the same time and maybe fight my antweight at some point. ( i'm trying to get my family into antweights )

attached the drive servos temporarily to the base with double sided tape and the same with the flipper servo, i've also just ordered a hot glue gun so I can actually work on the robot at home.

its only the flipper that wont fit and its only a temporary thing until my hot glue gun arrives

a video of anarchist, I still need to add side armor but I need to drill some holes in the flipper first to leave some weight for side armor
