I now have a dilema, I either want to rebuild anarchist as a lightning style flipper because i've never seen an antweight like that before or completely convert it into a spinner.
PLEASE HELP

don't bother, with a lightning style flipper, wont be very efective as paralax proved, was cool though.

Ultimately it's your choice

Personally, I would build something like a flipper *properly* (i.e with screws), before attempting a spinner. I see spinners as dangerous, robots capable of chopping off your fingers. I'd hate to see one held together with glue.

But like I say, it's your choice completely, but I'd definitely advise against making a side flipper

Don't do a Lightning style flipper. The thing that makes flippers entertaining and effective is that they are able to control the flow of the fight. A Lightning style flipper cannot do this as effectively as s regular style flipper because instead of launching the opposing robot away from it, it throws the opposing robot off to the side where then the opposing robot is in a better position to get under your robot or flank it and cause damage to it.

If you dont fight in an arena with "pushouts", ignore this.

Spinners tend to "hockey puck" and or gyro dance after a big hit or if they get tilted too far and the gyroscopic forces of the spinning mass take over. During these times you have no control of your robot. Because there are "pushouts" you spinner could gyrodance it's way put of the arena for an incredibly stupid loss.

Spinners also need to be able to absorb and disapate whatever KE they dish out, otherwise stuff will break on your bot. Seeing your construction methods, you aren't at the skill level where you can effectively build a flipper.

If there are pushouts in the arena the best design would be a fast and powerful pushy bot or a clamp of some sort, if there are not pushouts, go with a flipper.

sorry guys, I keep forgetting to put ito posts that i'm properly rebuilding anarchist with screws rather than hot glue before i even think about building a spinner because i'd rather have something i know is safe over a hot glue manufactured accident waiting to happen

Good call. Also, shipping may take a while, but this stuff is very handy-

Currently using it on Motor City Massacre and Apollyon, and planning to use more on Nyx. (Apollyon and Nyx use larger versions)

I have a dilemma guys, a set of 12v drill motors with mounts and 75mm robochallenge wheels have just come up for sale, should i get these, run them for a while and then upgrade to the gimson robotics motors later or should I just spend the extra money on the gimson motors from the start ?

Personally, I'd wait until the gimsons have been proved in combat. I'm not saying that they're shoddy or anything, just new. :P

They look like they're based on cordless drills with mods focused on improving durability and ease of mounting. Unless they cut some major corners internally, they'll probably hold up better than plain cordless drill gearboxes.

now i'm not sure on whether to make my ant a bar spinner or a shell spinner when I build it, mainly because i've never seen an antweight shell spinner ( maybe for a very good reason ) and i'd like to see how it would do

I think the problem lies with invertibility/self-righting.
