It looks like a wedge...7075 aluminum.
Ti or aluminum body?
What is nutstrip? This would be a nutstrip(http://kitbots.com/product.sc;jsessionid=3B2F55B134A9D73BDEB9A9114B87FD44.qscstrfrnt03?productId=25&categoryId=1 (http://kitbots.com/product.sc;jsessionid=3B2F55B134A9D73BDEB9A9114B87FD44.qscstrfrnt03?productId=25&categoryId=1)) Very useful for holding a bot together.
Overall, you have a good design. If I had to recommend one thing it would be to get a lot of driving practice once you have your bot built, or before if you have access to a toy RC car with tank steering and a decent speed. What I've found while working on Battlewagon is that a robot of any size and a decent top speed is going to be somewhat twitchy. You'll need to get used to that.
DP
The reciever is in a weird shape, what's its lowest point heightwise? If it's any less than .4875" then I don't have to redesign the thing again.
read your post wrong, sorry
here's the charger:

got bored and decided to to a cardboard mockup of the armor and stuff.
sorry for the blurry image, this pic was rushed :P
Lol, yeah there was definite inspiration there. Hey, it's better then just buying a Viper kit :P
My dad knows what he's doing with this stuff. I really don't. :P I plan to learn though. That plus all the tools needed are over at his shop and he's only letting me come to help on Saturdays.
Hey Nate, you going to Bot Blast?
Spikes, forks, or panels? All of the above.

intentionally oversizing the countersink on back holes to account for potential bad hole placement?
How did you attach it? Hinges?
Looks great, BTW!
No prob. Great idea putting the hubs on the outside. I wonder who came up with that idea...
what's your charger? check its mode to make sure its in the right mode for your battery. My charger is this:
how many cells is your battery and what's the voltage reading?
I'm going to get everyone to scream that at the event.
arena floor pls be made out of wood
I'm going to get everyone to scream that at the event.
god dammit really
DISQUALIFIED!arena floor pls be made out of woodactually it is XD
Upload fights plez?
I've never seen a good robot from a rookie whose never been to a competition
Plans for the next version of FireArrow include wheel guards and a stronger wedge.
yeah but it'll get annoying to have to cut+bend a new wedge for every single event. A steel wedge should get me through a few competitions.
well this is what it looks like now:Keep it as a trophy :P
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/97021IMG_0501.JPG)
It's not dead though...
Personally I wouldn't do that since it would make repairing it a nightmare whereas if you made it out of separate pieces and bolted it together repairs would be as easy as making 1 new plate rather than a whole chassis.
nope, planned name right now is Nocturne
If anything FireFly would be a fairyweight
Inside joke.nope, planned name right now is Nocturne

Flame Dagger then?
or maybe Immolation?
Inside joke.
Woo. Go FireflyArrow :claping
robutts
So that's why you told me to get that Titan kit...
So that's why you told me to get that Titan kit...
Yes :P
You gotta agree that it is the cheapest option for combat-ready kits though
motters
Pits scare me thoughYou're a wedge. You'll be fine.
I like the little teeth thing, it looks really cool.
I like the little teeth thing, it looks really cool.
They look sloppy to me.
Even if they didn't, I still don't think they are a good idea. How possible is it to get stuck laying on it's wedge? The teeth just prevent it from righting itself, possibly. Definitely something to check.
So Nocturne managed to break its weapon assembly and burn out an ESC in one night. So it's been pulled out of Pennbots. This gives us 4 months to fix things and get it up to scruff for Bot Blast, so I'm not too upset. I knew it'd be a rush to get this thing together for this anyway :P
FireArrow now self rights reliably and just needs a permanent mount for the rear steel plate and a coat of paint to be ready for next weekend. I hope more ants sign up, its gonna be boring with just us four wedges :P
You need to get some woodgrain vinyl and wrap that mofo.
Well Pennbots was fun. FireArrow went 4-0 and took home the antweight title, Nocturne went 0-2 but beat Alex's thing once in a grudge match (we decided to do best of 3). Nocturne's getting pretty much redesigned entirely for Bot Blast.Neat. Glad Nocturne got to compete despite it being totally cursed and everything.
I also guest drove D12 because Brandon's two bots faced against each other in the first round.
In 4 months I hope to have something that somewhat resembles a wider Last Rites.
Fixed Fingertech ESCs came todaySurely not on the wood floor :dumb). Fingers crossed that things don't break again.
should be able to do some driving practice tonight if all goes well

Yeah all my fights got recorded by my dad. Other people probably have videos too.Wait so if the brackets were double elimination, why didn't FireArrow have to beat Slim Pickens twice :dumb)
Here's an event report:

Speed controller blew up today. So we're ordering another one. How? Did the batteries blow?
theyre different weight classes...
Since when was he pent up? Christ, after i curbstomped Carbonate you have been breaking down across the forum! If you're not going to post anything constructive or at least on topic then just don't post.

Back on topic: what are the teeth on nocturne? They look really weird to me.
Sharpened rods of high speed steel.
Jaydee you realise Badnik's bot just got taken apart?Yeah, but it's better to give positive comments so Badnik will feel better about it, I think... Others may disagree.
Tough match man, FA was doing awesomely to keep taking those massive hits.
He still lost.
I know it's an obvious statement to make, but how much weight do you have to play with? A little sheet on the back would help.
Ouch, what part failed, the hub or the shaft?
So that what caused the bend at the nose of Nocturne. Jeez, some power these bots have eh?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IqOioqVKzU# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IqOioqVKzU#)you drove it on wood floor
Wired up the new drive system for FireArrow v2. It's fast as hell.
(http://i.imgur.com/xHK49Qw.jpg)Thats one hell of a washboard there.
Say hi to Landshark. Don't worry, he's friendly unless you weigh 6lbs and happen to be a fighting robot.
Thats one hell of a washboard there.
It lost to Gemini and Colsonbot (!!!),You had one job.
Nocturne also went 2-2, but its two wins were forfeits. It lost to Gemini and Colsonbot (!!!), of which the two fights were about eight hours apart. I've decided to retire this bot in favor of better things to come. The curse is real
Looking god so far. Was the shoutout (is that the right word to use?) to 259 intentional?I hope so, it's exactly what I thought when I looked at it.
