great idea! i might add some eyes to it as well so it can "eat" other robots

I'd be careful, if the arm's strong enough you could damage part of the weapon or chassis trying to do that.

How much weight do you have left? If you've got some extra weight you could make a clamp arm to hold bots on the lifter (like Hot Stuff) so then you could pick up bots and parade them around the arena/dump them out of it.

You could add a skid on the back to keep the front end down, and a kind of curved hook thing on the arm to keep the opponent on, or perhaps to self-right more effectively. Also give it an angry cartoon face. :gawe:

if i let the arm go down fully it lifts the front off the grond so the lifter can get underneith things, remember i'm not fighting on a perfectly even arena floor
angry face is a must!

Is it able to self-right at all? I'm guessing it can reliably lift at least its own weight.

Sure, can't guarantee that it will stay in the arena though

Simple fix:

Swap the polarity of the motor's going into the esc and flip the "servo reversing" switches for aileron and elevator on your transmitter.

May not be quite right if it's a motor timing issue. If the transmitter has trim adjustments, that would be the best way to do it. (push the stick so it's going straight, then adjust the trim to the left if it's veering right, right if it's veering left, repeat until it goes straight when you push the stick forward)

In addition to that, the surface and which part is dragging will alter handling. I'd suggest putting the arm all the way down, then driving it on a flat, relatively smooth surface for trim adjusting.

i know it can be fixed easily, im just not pushing my luck with it (after breaking my esc the night before and event and then staying awake half the night trying to fix it)

since my dx5e has had lots of "ajustments" to it the trims are a tad tempremental, thats what pepsi max does to transmitters  :ermm:

ill give it ago and see what happens, when i rebuild it i will make it shorter and see if that helps

A wedge would seem better instead of that hammer.
