Title: Mouldy Robotics

Well, I bought a robot. Some of you smarties might know where this picture is from.

I didn't make one because I am a very unskilled builder and am worried about messing something up so for now, this is the best thing.

Learn about this and how it works, then make my own.

Had contemplated putting an offer in on that, hope it goes well for you!

I made sure that I put in an early offer, I didn't want to pass this up considering the price.

Thanks, lad! Might have to call you for some help, hehe.

It finally came. All I need now is a transmitter.

Though, some things bothered me when I saw it and I would like some opinions on whether these things would work.

-The flipper doesn't reach the floor. Is there a way to fix that?
-The insides are exposed once the flipper is open. Would there be a way to get a removable plate in there to protect them more?
-Before putting the final transmitter in, could I use an R/C car transmitter just to ensure that it works?

Thank you in advance.

It would appear that the flipper segment is relatively hollow on the bottom, likely to allow for clearance of the internals. Any plate you put in place would likely interfere with that fitment, making the wedge have even more clearance from the floor.

1. UK antweight builders use a sheet of acetate to make a floor-scraping wedge. MikeNCR used pop rivets and shoe goo to attach a wedge onto his:

2. Builders don't normally do that. Just remember to close the flipper when you think you're going to get hit by a spinner.

3. If the transmitter works with the Nanotwo(?) ESC, then use it.

Well mouldy... you should buy the transmitter first before placing the sheet. That way you can return the bot if it is maltfuncioned.
If it works then you should add some sheets!
To protect the internal.. just place a sheet in front of the bot's internals.. it will be just enough protection as you dont need to protect the top (flipper is in the way for axe bots to hack the insides)

Update from Mould HQ.

Well, I ordered a Tx and Rx and after an hour, I decided I had found the solution by plugging in the LiPo to the "BAT" on the receiver. I assume you could guess what happened next.

I talked to the beautiful Badnak and he took me through what I needed and what I should do.

Found out that I actually have a lemon rx in the bot already. Couldn't see it because it had a bloody heat sink around it. All I need now is a power supply for the LiPo charger and a new transmitter.

Should be all good to go after that.

Robot is all working. 3rd time lucky with the transmitter. Thanks to the chaps that helped me in the Discord <3

Got this created too: https://www.facebook.com/mouldyrobotics/

Right, so next up is charging the LiPo. I ran it down to nothing to ensure that it works fine. I got my LiPo bag with me now and once I get to my grand dad's, I'll be charging it safetly.

My wife will then help me with the designs that'll go on to the robot and then it'll finally be ready to fight.

Got a team name finally with "Mouldy Cheese" being the antweight's name.
