Bump

Just before we moved house in 1999, I discovered RW Series 2. I was glued to the screen every Friday. Eventually, it went off in 2003. I was heartbroken on discovering it wasn't coming back. I attended 1 event in 2006, and mostly forgot about RW. Then, in June/July 2009, I searched on google for Robot Wars, and came across the Robot Wars Wiki. Having lurked there for a month, I registered and started contributing in August. I saw the RA2 vids of a member called RA2 (Sonny_Resetti), and in one of his vids he talked to GF93 about Replica Wars. Searching for that, I eventually found myself here on GTM, and S_M gave me a copy of RA2 shortly afterwards.
So Replica Wars brought you to GTM? awesomes

waaaaay back in '01, my moms friend told her about Battlebots, so we watched it, and my first fight was Biohazard VS Taz-bot, and I was hooked, and since then Bio has been my fave.

i got into it somewhere in the middle of Robot Wars series 3 on BBC. i was young then, about 8 years old i think. can't remember that well. i then first saw the show and loved it. at first i didn't know what all the english meant since i could only speak dutch. later i used k'nex stuff to replicate battles and actually thanks to the show learned english.
after robot wars disappeared some years passed, then i suddenly remember the show after seeing the name of one of the games. i looked and youtube for more and actually found the battles. after having played the robot wars games and found out about robot arena 2. so i downloaded that to give it a try and just loved all the options there were. later i got onto the RA2 forum where i was active for a while. i then forgot about everything and got to other things. became addicted to 'forum roleplaying' and been doing that all the time (and i still do it). build a new pc in the time, got more games and then found my RA2 .exe and installed it again. and i got the grey screen on startup problem with windows vista. when i saw the RA2 forum wasn't there, i went looking and found GTM with a forum. got helped here then but then never returned. and then recently went asking for the hamachi stuff. i was recognised by someone here and got back to being active on GTM next to having my own roleplaying forum to watch over.

i must say that i always had a knack for robotic combat. that was i also liked the Medabots anime very much. but, that's my story. i now i am 19 years old tho. i have changed a lot in all the time.

I got into RW early in Series 2. I remember seeing those bots and thinking 'woah :D'
Been into it ever since.
Last year, remembered playing a demo of RA2, and decided to see if I could download it somewhere.
I did. I liked. I ended up here :D

I first heard about Battlebots on the old On Demand channel (this was early 2000; a week or so before I turned 13). From there, I was hooked. Watched almost every single episode of Battlebots from its debut til its demise. Also watched 2nd Series Robot Wars on the local PBS station (right after The Red Green Show; 11 p.m. EST), 4th Series on TNN (Grand Champions), and almost everything else I could under the sun (I missed the Nick Robot Wars since it was blink and miss it; same deal with Robotica Series 3).

In short, I'm a MASSIVE nerd about robots. I've always wanted to build one, but monetary reasons (read: lower middle-class family) and a lack of actual fighting in a 3 hour radius kept me away from it.

2001: My Grandma phoned and said there was an interesting program on BBC2. Saw the end of Heat C - Firestorm vs The Morgue.
2002-2003: Got RW:ED and AoD, was hooked. Also watched all of series 7 on Jetix/Fox Kids.
2004-2006: Forgot about them, and watch Dukes of Hazzard for ages.
2007: Discovered it on YouTube again. Bought RA2 (download version), and joined the old GTM.
2008: New computer = No RA2. Forgot about it.
2009: Re-discovered GTM, and torrented RA2 on PirateBay (Don't look at me like that guys, I'd already bought it, so I haven't done anything illegal). Got DSL, started entering tourneys and started showcasing bots.
2010: Died of sheer delight.
how do i

so you are dead now... great. and i don't mind you torrenting it. how i got it also isn't the most fair way, but is a fail in the developers side. i had downloaded a trial version, 3 uses. used 3 used because the game kept crashing. looked on the site and got the official patch (then still using windows XP). the game was no longer seen as a trial version.

well, i'm happy since i can play it.

after series 3 - Razer
after....gah mind fail - Razer
after series 7 - Storm 2

my collection is the matches/ interviews and thats about it, no torrents for the full eps sorry

I spent hours fishing on youtube for high quality full size (interviews etc) videos of series then subscribe to that user and download them as they come :P I have noticed a lot of stuff I got, I cant find it on youtube anymore... you have to be quick with all this copyright garbage on youtube now
