Anyone know the basic dimensions for a standard AW wedge? My dad wants me to do a blueprint thing for it and I have no idea how big a regular AW is...

For reference, I want my bot to look like an AW Psychotron.

the question is how small can you make your robot and still make it functional.

Take all of your components dimensions and create cutouts of the components and lay them out to figure out how small you can build the robot. Its kinda like RA2.

or you could do the same thing in a CAD program such as autodesk inventor or sketchup

MikeNCR's ant Kolabos was 5 1/2" wide at its wedge and it frame was 3 3/4"wide. Its length was 4 1/2".  Height was 3/4"

So, the easiest thing is to get the parts first and then lay everything out? Ok, I'll tell him that.

My dad still wants me to do the blueprint. Wants me to "learn something", whatever that means XD

naah, just get me the dimensions and I'll be happy.

They are 1 3/4" long by by 12 sixteenths of an inch wide and half an inch tall at the highest point with case. The antenna is about six inches long.

Looks like a solid concept. Make sure to doublecheck battery thickness vs. vertical space in the chassis, it's easy  to miss by just a hair and have it mess with the whole internal layout.

I'd also suggest once you get the parts, cut out thin cardboard mock ups of the armor to do a final fit test before you cut metal. It's also not totally  obvious how the armor fastens together while allowing battery removal, so that's something to think about while the parts are on the way.

If I could make one suggestion, it would be to swap the battery and the rx. That will put the heaviest part of the bot closer to the wheels, giving added traction.
