No, the best stuff isn't on the Marketplace. THere's some better motors and stuff out there. Check out this thread:

https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,4104.0.html

It should steer you in the right direction.

EDIT: those kind of stuff put me overbudget, and even though they might be better, i only got $250, and i can't solder.

You're gonna need to learn to solder... Google it, it isn't hard.

For once the mods did something right

Instead of two custom made batteries buy a BEC
http://www.dimensionengineering.com/sportbec.htm

Those Taymia motors are crap. Check these out. http://kitbots.com/product.sc;jsessionid=7BCFD6DC84954620A6CC653651849C89.qscstrfrnt01?productId=20&categoryId=1

They are a little more expensive but they are great and you can also get mounting plates for them.

Also you are going to need to learn how to solder.

Dude, Soldering is soooooo easy.  And you can pick up a basic soldering hobby kit for cheap.  If you learn how to solder leads onto motors and bridge battery cells, your life will be so much easier. It's also a great skill to learn if you get into the RC car hobby as well.  What state are you located in & do they have robot competitions near there?

tamiya motors? pah, i spit on them, they are useless!
robot marketplace if often too expensive for what it is, try other websites and try other forums that will be more geared towards combat robots, normaly people have odds and sods lying round that you could have cheaply.

Armour : Polycarbonite (FREE)(Good choice, but make sure its real polycarbonate, plexy glass is often confused for it, and will shatter like, well, glass. You should also chemically weld it together, you'l have armor that will be nearly unbreakable.)
Speed Contrlorrer : Sabertooth 5 ($60)(Nice choice)
Radio package : GWS (about $100)(Its a very basic radio, your going to waste your money that won't work. For the same price, you could get the Spektrum DX5e, which would be a much better radio. Just remember that the AR6110 is going to put you a bit over budget.)
Motors: Spare Taymia motors ($6 for 2)(Those seem awfully small to drive a beetle around.)
Wheels : i forgot the name (about $4 for 2-pack)(I'm guessing these are lite flights. Your going to need hubs, they don't bolt on to the shafts.)
Battery for Sabertooth: Custo0m Made Battery ($15)
Battey for reciever : Custom made battery ($5)(A BEC is much better and wont add to much weight, but might be a bit more pricey, but it's going to total how much you would pay for another switch, RFL rules require a switch between all power sources.)
X2 battery charger ($30 for 2)
Fastners ($10)

Is this what you would recommend?
My thoughts hi-lighted in red.

can i ask u guys about spektrum? it's mostly for airplanes, so is it

A: 1 channel for 1 motor, or
B: 1 channel for front and back, and the other for left and right?

You can't drive a tank drive robot unless you have two channels.

Spektrum remotes have a ratchetring left stick (good for RC airplanes) and a springloaded right stick that always recenters itself. Most people drive only with the right stick because if this. If you have a ESC that has mixing (which you do) it's not a problem because one channel will control forward/backwards and the other channel will control left/right.

Most of the Spektrums do have mixing, as in for forwards and backwards, left and right on one stick.
Edit: Ninjasked.

It's about $110 for a Spektrum DX5e with AR500 receiver combo at robotmarketplace. So if you buy a Spektrum you save $3 of the GWS which costs $113.

Your Saber tooth already has a BEC, it does not need another battery.

If you have a 5v input you don't need a separate battery. That's why I said get a BEC. I'd tell you how to make one from parts you can get a radioshack but because you can't solder it won't be much help. :P
