Title: Storm 2 Nearly Never Was..
Post by: JoeBlo on December 02, 2009, 11:10:47 PM
I just did a bit of internet reading about and found that robot wars did not originally want storm 2.. yeah im not joking

robot wars didnt want robots with out weapons as they were considered boring ???

battlebots excepted them however but shortly after comedy central pulled the plug on the show

Storm 2 team applyied for the New Blood in robot wars but there was a mix up and the picture Robot Wars saw was storm 1 (a hydraulic crusher) so they were excepted in

when they arrived with storm 2 the team were almost turned around however they fortunately were allowed to enter

for series 7 they were told they could only enter if they had a weapon as storm 2 was too boring (seriously ?)

source: team storm's website http://www.teamstorm.com/storm2/newblood.htm

apparently the team are making a new robot

I read this recently as well and quite frankly, it's disgusting. Storm 2 is far from boring even without a weapon. Good to hear the team are making a new robot though.

I just read all the Series 7 reports (http://www.teamstorm.com/storm2/heati.htm (http://www.teamstorm.com/storm2/heati.htm)) too... and Mentorn, how the heck could they do that? It's a joke.

I never really liked the Storm 2 bot, and now I can see why. I was made to dislike it XD.
My opinion of that team/bot has just shot through the roof.

I think a pusher like tornado was boring but Storm to was a fantastic robot and one of my favorites, the hang time it was launching others off the wall was amazing, also noted that it was the first rammer to get a robot oota

just going on a hunch here but perhaps the "boring tittle" hung over this robot lead to its loss in the grand final ??

Well, kind of. Dunno if you read their report of it (http://www.teamstorm.com/storm2/grandfinals.htm), it all seems a little complicated... :P

I just read all the write ups and I must say I am verrrry disappointed in robot wars "corruption"

its hard to believe but it does kinda all piece together, guess that's what happens when the organization was based around entertainment and not the fighting itself

I still like robot wars but I think that was a bit of a low blow to the team... happy to see them win the world championship

i have been reading about the Storm 2 and typhoon 2 battle... and just WTF is this!? already thought it was strange that typhoon had won while constantly having to run away from Storm 2, but after reading this, it kinda gives me an idea why robot wars had stopped. people knew that the final was unfair and lost interest. next to the teams that lost their trust.

Storm 2 was clearly the winner if you ask me.
