Title: Robot Wars Live Events 2015

So, where are us Brits going?

Will definitely be at Portsmouth, hoping to get to Newport and Guildford too. Maidstone... possibly.
(Note this list doesn't include any Robots Live events - I'll be at at least Burgess Hill of theirs)

If only I knew how to build a real robot :(

Portsmouth isn't too far away from me, so with any luck I'll be there.
I doubt I'll be able to get to any other events though.

Living in the Midlands is the worst because 99.9% of all Robt Wars locations are quite a way away. The closest to me is Barnsley, which is an hour and 40 minute drive according to Google Maps. I'll probably end up going Barnsley, if I have the time.

I live in Northern Ireland. There's no chance whatsoever for them to visit.

Travelling in the UK is generally horrible though, and if you don't have a way of doing it yourself (eg relying on your parents) in general they wouldn't take you very far. Also our public transport system is, at this point, horribly backdated.

... But at the end of the day I think it comes down to where you live. I know some of you guys in the US have to go hours even for school whereas we like walk around the corner. Not used to big distances between things here :L

I've only got the train and coach to travel around at the moment which is an ass. Regardless Barnsley and Maidstone should be a go for me.

I'll be going to the one in Colchester, I always do.

I'll try and persuade my dad to take me to Maidstone as well.

I'll state what shirt I'm wearing on the day so you can spot me.

Oh bugger aye, of course I'm coming along for the Northern Tour! It's my territory.  ;)

Mouldy, word of advise... Cover yourself in neon body paint if you want to be spotted!

I wanna go there! Such a shame I live in Sweden and currently have no money...

Off topic: How many seasons were Robot Wars and what season was hypno disc in? If not several...

There were 7 seasons of UK Robot Wars (Not including Robot Wars Extreme 1 and 2) and Hypno-Disc was involved in Series 3 through 6. You can watch every series on YouTube :)

Haha it's all good, there's at least 2 of us coming up (plazmic inferno/Tweedy is actually staying at my home in Wilts the night before, super long travel for him from Kent), potentially 3 if my 'teammate'/'stepdad' comes, so I'll be driving :')

Better question is:

You're kidding me right? They were ICONIC in the original robot wars.

Sure, they've got Matilda, but what about Psycho and Sir Killalot? Imagine them taking on the modern day flippers!

Besides, I'm pretty sure their return would attract a larger audience.

Yes, because people go to these competitions to look at over engineered, obsolete window dressing beat up on a disabled bot, and not the uber flippers literally launching each other end over end, several feet in the air.

Yeah, well, I guess we all got our preferences.

You like seeing robots fly all over the arena, and I can agree with that.

I just want to see a little bit of carnage...

Word around is that they've tracked the original house bots to a collector in Las Vegas, I believe. They'd be too valuable to use in their old states against the new bots anyway, so I imagine they'd basically have to be duplicated - not cheap! That's what it all comes down to, money.

Hmm, well, you'd think they would make a lot of money with these shows.
Nonetheles, I'm somewhat relieved to hear that the originals are possibly safe and sound.

Keep in mind that most of these bots cost thousands of dollars and months of effort to construct.

Just been to the later event today and will be there tomorrow at 12. Sadly, I won't be around for the final of the World (actually European) Championship but it has been cool, so far. Shame for Dystopia's quick elimination, Garfie. Didn't like how Eruption lost to TAN, tho.

The World Champs has been amazing to behold
Only 3 out of 8 remaining robots are flippers and so many of the favourites out so soon!
Unfortunately Beast got a gas leak and a flat tyre against TAN and Gabriel and in that situation there really was no way I could beat them :(
