Would be great to see the RR arena  and the robotica arena done properly. How are the arena's going from the robot wars magazine's?

I'd love to but I think it would only work if I made two, mirrored to each other with the battle arena between them. But because the gauntlet is straight, AI should get lost going through the obsticals... It's just I'm a purist when it comes down to... Well anything! I would rather do it accurately :P

Do it accurately and just have a zone off-view where the ai opponent (slot 2) is held? I don't want battles, I want to traverse the thing :P

If you're worried about the AI navigating the arena correctly, I'd be willing to code it into the arena for you.

Also, I feel like I should mention the SyFy's Robot Combat League. It isn't technically robot combat by our definition but it did look pretty cool.

I'd still love anyone to death if they did a RW Series 2 Gauntlet.

As for the 1995 "Rowbat Worz" arena as the Americans say... I do think it would be essential because it was the first arena but it's very simplistic. It depends really. Anyone got good photos of the battle area and the hazards? I can only remember a net & a very simple but fragile plastic bat what swung horizontally.

i can only find videos :(

maybe you could have a box with a bot in after the end of the gauntlet so the AI follows it

Mate your too kind some times. I've got a few other hurdles to get over first but once those bridges are crossed, I'll definetly give you a shout. Cheers!

I was thinking about the SiFi RC Leaque arena too, I've only seen a couple of pictures but it does look damn good. I kinda don't think it really qualifies to be in this thread, but others may beg to differ!

As for the prioritized arenas, I definitely think that the Robotica, Robogames and Dutch Robot Games arenas need to make their way into my pack. I understand that the Robotica arena has already been made, but as good as it is... it isn't! So I want to have a bash at creating a new one.

Natef, I found a few decent pictures on the tinterwebs, but looking at it, despite being Classic Robot Wars, I don't think it would be very wise to have people throwing robots like Iron Awe, SOW and Storm in there.  Then again it depends on how much people want it made and if I can persuade someone to help me get it into the game.

If anyone is wondering why I made this thread in the first place, Its because I intend to make the most popular arenas for my pack so that the player feels like they are touring the world to battle.  :thumbup

I have 1996 on tape. Same arena as 1995. I think part 1-4 are on the YouTube channel BBCRobotWarsUK or just search it on YouTube.

I've got it on VHS too, its absolutely covered in dust though, I got it when I joined the RW club.

I only found out about the FRA Robots Live arena today while wandering through the Team Storm facebook page, so I made it.

i'd like to see a new functional FTTF arena, I really like the concept of it and I'd love to see an efficient one with dropping walls and everything!  :laughing
