Robogames 2012
« on: April 27, 2012, 10:22:55 AM »
Some crazy videos have started to make their way onto youtube of it.

And yes, that IS a go pro mount on Sewer Snake

There are a bunch more go pro videos on Sewer Snake's owner's channel (mattmaxsr)

Edit: Another good one from the owner of Raging Scotsman

I built that big robot on that TV show that time

Wow! That's pretty amazing. Electric Boogaloo looks pretty sweet. And destroying the ceiling was just perfect  :claping

Where is it  held? I noticed Flamethrowers are apparently allowed, which is a little odd to me (being from the UK).

Robogames is held in San Mateo California.

A bit about Electric Boogaloo... It was assembled the night before the event and completely untested. It went on to take 2nd. It's only losses were to Original Sin.

And it pretty much killed itself against Original Sin. Original Sin really didn't need to do much.

I think it was Last Rites that knocked the lights out of the ceiling, not Electric Boogaloo.

I can't come up with a single plow joke for Electric Boogaloo. Anyway, nice fight videos indeed...

We don't know. There hasn't been a press release about it with new info since April 12th. No one knows if it even is going to be "robot combat" in the traditional sense or something completely different.

What little information there is has been posted on Mike Joerger's website. What I can tell, it's basicly jumbo sized ROBO-1 with hand held weapons, and has a max weight limit of half a ton.

There must be a better place to mount that camera on Sewer Snake, surely? Rather than screwing the robot over if flipped.

Electric Boogaloo came second this year apparently, losing to Original Sin. Last Rites came third.

I didn't think Killer Robots was that great. I'm still hoping Craig Charles comes back and does Robot Wars
