Title: part reviews, recommendations, and site listings
Post by: zipdragon64 on July 16, 2008, 01:39:38 PM
im starting this thread for people to post there opinions on parts that they used

ill start with the Robot Power Scorpion HX
not much to say it is a very good speed controller easy to to use the mixing just change the jumper clip around the flip control is a great added feature works great with a speed 280 as a weapon motor a little pricy and its not the smallest controller ever but still very good

im giving it five stars* out of five

next banebots 16mm 24:1
this is a good motor but there are a few thing you should do in order to entend there life spans in combat one of the common breaks that will happen is that the face will break away from the gearbox this happens because the threads inside the box will crack and break a few things you can do is use longer mechine screws , or create a support for the motor this can be a simple as a peace of poly with a hole drilled thruogh it slide over the motor and bolted into place to prevent damage try to cut the shaft as short a possible or use the baring block they (or make your own) pretty good motor but delicate

for me three and a half stars* out of five

and this is the best site i can find for brushless motors
