Existed, yes, successful no.  Off the top of my head, classic RW gave us Spam and Armadrillo who fell in Series 6 without maing any sort of impression

It's really just a poor use of kinetic energy

Basenji the dude combatant evil squirrel grunion... you know the real term is bludgeoner right?

A bludgeoner would be an axe/hammer

Edit: Just saw Fatal Traction's wiki entry, and they do say bludgeoning flywheels. Stupid, but eh, face spinner sounds better as bludgeoner is more an axe/hammer

Yeah Bludgeoner sounds like a term to describe a robot like Bambino but Face spinner sounds like an art metal band.

There's also Invertebrat from series 3 and 4 of Robot Wars. Made a heat final, with little other success.

Right! I was wondering where I had seen a FS because I did remember seeing a design somewhere(think a different bot had it as well?) Invertabrat(also known as Inverterbrat in Series 4) looked like this:
The success was more because of the front flippers and in 2 out of 3 fights in Series 4 it lost because the flipper got stuck, making it unable to touch the ground and keep on moving.

tbh if its not Combat Ant its not really that good... it may get a win or two but they really are not that good otherwise...

EDIT* Nowadays Combat Ant is a undercutter anyways
